What did you do to your TJ today?

Haven’t done one yet but trying to think it through ahead of time. I’m planning to try it with a grinder. I talked to someone at Rockjock who said you don’t need to reshape or even weld the bottom but that many do.

I think I’m going to try to get the axle housing diameter and trace it with a sharpie- drilling holes in the back of the mount to thru-weld to helps too

The factory mount is basically heavy sheet metal.

Good ideas! I hadn't thought of plug welding.

Better stay close to that red one, he may need some help.

Buggies to the left of me and built TJ's to the right. Here l am stuck in the middle.

A few small things I have done to my Rubicon just to make it mine. @AndyG knows how to build a Jeep to handle like a dream. His long arm white Rubicon handles so well, the Black one I got from him handles perfectly. There's not a lot that I can do to this Jeep to make it anymore off roadable, so I am just spending a little here and there to make it mine.
Added these door limit straps, and the Rugged ridge dash tray phone holder.

Still kills me I let a shop long arm that ‘03- that is from building first, then finding the right forum- as @jjvw once said, it is the connections that matter.

The long arm lesser arc theory is borderline ridiculous.

I’m glad you are enjoying it John, I sure did. I know it will be well cared for ….I sure did not want some kid to get it and ruin it.

It was even better on my newer 33” KO 2 tires that are destined for the ‘04. The tires on it are ok but when you freshen them up it will just get better.

I’m glad a good friend has it.

Thanks bud, I have to say even my wife noticed the difference in the ride quality between the Rubicon and my old Sport.

I also changed the oil today!!!!!

Changing the transmission oil pan to add a temp gauge. The magnet was not in my pan, and I had to run down 30 miles to get one, nice drive with my wife and dogs in the Ram. Should have it finished this afternoon. It will be nice to be able to see the temp and have a drain plug. Thanks @mrblaine for the modified Dorman pan.

I have some cool 3" projection led's coming I am putting in my front bumper . They have white and amber fog led's and I ordered an on-off-on switch for my panel so I can switch them to whichever mode I need . Also picked up some loom to run the wire in , I like the factory look. Got a heat shrink assortment while I was at it, I have a little but I am doing the big 5 too so that will take care of that also. Ordered the 1awg wire too , I have all the rest of the stuff to make up the big 5 kit .
I'm going to have to go crazy on this thing pretty soon , I figure it God put me on this earth to do a number of things .... I'm so far behind I will live forever ! LOL !

Picked it up from Acme 4x4 this morning with the rebuilt rear differential
I knew the old one had issues because the harmonics at different speeds were tell tale.
Ended up replacing the center section completely with a new 3:73 LS, verses the 3:73 open that was in it.
All I can say is , what a difference it made. No harmonics, no vibrations, and a completely different ride.
Money well spent😁

That 03 on long arms still amazed me!!!

Can't wait till you are done with the new Rubicon, I bet it will be better than the 03 and my 06!!!!!!
