What did you do to your TJ today?

I just bought a 99 TJ, and I drove it 400 miles nonstop. Since I didn't know this specific Jeep, I was a little uneasy at first. But after the first 100 miles, I knew this was the Jeep I know and love, and I turned up the radio and let 'er rip. Been driving Jeeps since 1988. Today, I took off the doors (wd-40- and girl power to get them off) and let down the soft top. Armaroled it and cleaned the windshield. Love it. It's black, and I named it Ursula! Looks like a little brother to my red JK. Well, I look forward to talking about these jewels with all of you.

Ursula is a great Jeep name! Sounds like a uni-brow though. ..😁

So this showed up today.

I already had the B&M T-handle. I really like T-handle shifters.

I had a Spectre Universal T-handle on the factory shifter and it actually was pretty good.

My original boots had some tears in them so I patched them up with some 3M super weatherstrip adhesive. Worked great!

Out with the old and in with the new...

All done! Now for a test drive...

Short throw indeed!

Now I can actually use the front cupholder. Before the shifter would always hit anything in it when in 2nd or 4th gear.

Going to need to get used to it but I'm pretty sure I'm going to really like it.

It also came with this shift knob but I'm sticking with the T-handle.

Sounds like fun… welcome to the forum… I’m placing bets you’ll be driving your TJ more than your JK just for the ‘fun factor’ lol

I need to replace the water pump on my Jeep. It is a 2000 with 74k on it, and it has basically been sitting in a garage for 3 years. Should I do a Thermocure treatment before replacing the water pump or after?

I finally got around to changing my spark plugs in my 05 TJR that I've owned since around January of last year. It had just over 97,000 miles on it. The old plugs didn't look too bad considering they had about a .50 gap or so. Used about half a can of throttle body cleaner on the throttle body. New air filter. Got the tires balanced and rotated yesterday, so far no death wobble on a few short drives. I'm still scratching my head over new tires come spring. I keep learning towards the Mickey Thomson Baja Boss with the SL rating in a 32"

Can they do that over there ?

Some local governments can, some don't, and many probably will soon. I'm in a township, not a city and our friggin zoning department decided that any visible automotive parts can't cover more than 5 sq ft of your property. As picky as they are I don't think a 30 inch tire (4.9087 actual sq ft) would pass if a neighbor called it in because I bet zoning would do their math based on a square and 2.5 ft x 2.5 ft being 6.25 sq ft would be a menace to society.

I will say I'm pretty lucky about my neighbors, even the goofball right next door that told me when they first moved in that his family doesn't talk to neighbors and cuts his grass several times a week, sometimes with a flashlight and sometimes with an umbrella if it happens to be raining,

Our zoning dept. was told to BUTT OUT - that they were NOT an HOA. They butted out, and good riddance!
