What did you do to your TJ today?

I got the Genright corners installed after getting them painted to match body color:

I used the aluminum backing plates I made a few weeks ago:

I wanted to assemble the half doors that were restored and painted recently, but it's just too damn hot. This string of 100°F+ days is starting to take its toll on my shop time - I'm no @macleanflood, that's for sure!

I am banging the hell out of that drag link and it isn't budging. Damnit.

How soon do you need the Jeep? If you're able to, keeping some pressure on it along with some kind of penetrant will help. If it doesn't come off tonight, maybe try again tomorrow. Maybe pick up a MAPP gas bottle at Lowes or Home Depot in case it doesn't come loose tomorrow.

Edit. Nevermind. Glad you got it. Get some MAPP gas anyway. It's handy to have.

FYI, whenever you get everything put back together, make sure tighten down all the radiator hoses.

I took it out for a test drive of about 2 miles. At some point, the top radiator hose popped off the thermostat housing. The Thermocure+distilled water mixture got everything and smelled like burning. I got home and it was a mess under the hood. The good thing though is that it got up to operating temperature of 205 and stayed there. Also, I could tell that the new steering stabilizer definitely had a positive impact.

But I'm still frustrated. I make mistakes like leaving off the radiator hose, but I also have successes like actually getting the water pump replaced and figuring out that the t-stat housing was warped. But the mistakes weigh on me more than the successes. But I have to keep

I know I've been kind of spamming this thread the last few days. I appreciate all the help that everyone has given me throughout the weekend's work on the Jeep.

Learn from your mistakes!

If your not making mistakes your not trying!!!!

The more you work on your Jeep the more you will learn and the less mistakes you will make!!!!!

Focus on the successes! You have to because failures are inevitable - vehicles are complicated things, after all. Keep at it!

Same thing happened to me when I did my cooling overhaul. The top radiator hose popped off on it's maiden voyage. I know everyone insists on using the factory compression clamps, but that just didn't work for me. I also have an epoxied garage floor, I think it's pretty cool.
