Colorado Krew Hangout

Is the trailhead at the campground or is it going to be CR 60 and 285?

while i have done camping at -40. with just what i had on my back. i’d not like to do that again.

i’ll have to come up with some kind of plan with my son.

We camp in Telluride in September (8800') and the mornings are always very damp, chilly and in the low 30s. My -40 sleeping bag has been a great purchase!

8/12 is my birthday. A friend and I are going to run Red Cone, Webster Pass and possibly Slaughterhouse Gulch if time permits. If you're interested, post up and let's meet at the gas station in Morrison at 8.

If you guys depart from Morrison at 8, that sounds put you at the campground around 9:15. Do we want to just call the meetup time 9:30?

I just ticked off a few more items on the to-do list today. I think I'm set to go. @hosejockey61 - I've got ~ 350 miles on the gears now, so I'm assuming I should wait until after the trip to change diff oil?

Shoot it takes me most of the year to put that many miles on my Jeep. That's what happens when you drive a trailer queen.

Reactions: deadbeat son
Last night I read that Red Cone has recently been designated an "OHV trail" by the land manager, so it now requires an OHV permit. Just FYI...maybe you all were already aware of that but I wasn't.

Colorado ohv laws are so confusing to me. I've never been able to figure out how to get a permit for my Jeep, just ATVs, UTVs, and SxSs.

Red Cone today
