What did you do to your TJ today?

Started sticker bombing my tailgate skin, and started figuring out the cowl intake situation after I didn't like my initial plan and wasn't exactly impressed with the THOR intake box either

Wrapped the blockoff plates for under the hinges and the valance armor as well. The sticker bombed tailgate skin is also wrapped in 3m underneath so it can all just get pulled off in one sheet.

Then I figured out why the shop couldn't get my steering wheel straight during the alignment (ran out of threads on the drag link) and my turn signal wasn't cancelling correctly.

I'm suspecting the steering column moved between removal and install of the steering wheel when it was re-leathered... 😂

I'll remove and re-install the wheel this weekend.

It’s only slightly off … you can hardly notice it really 😂

It was regularly off at about 11 o'clock before the re-skin so I'm more used to a wheel off center than dead-on straight 😂

Worried I won't know what to do with a straight wheel, once I correct it. — Or leave it like this as an amazing theft defeat system... If they crash it at least hopefully they then leave it...

Went into town for a flu and COVID shot...and since town is a way off I lined up other errands like filling up all my gas cans with clear...the 4x4 lift I bought has a thirsty Briggs and Stratton IC twin 18 hp motor. Local gas station charges $8 and change a gallon and it's $5.70 in Springfield.

On my home got a a PO441 code. Sigh. Cleared it. Perhaps topping off the gas for a little wheeling this weekend will solve it.

Didn't even get 2-3 weeks past solving my exhaust and O2 sensor issue and a new problem!

I recently got the same code. Solution? I ignored it for now. Doesn't affect engine performance and no emissions check in WA.

I’ve been dealing with the same code since I got my new 97 TJ…When I got this code on the old 97 TJ, I replaced the charcoal canister and the purge solenoid and that solved the problem but I’ve replaced both on the new one along with the gas cap and checked all the hoses and connections and still keep getting it… It may take 2 - 3 weeks for it to throw the code after clearing it and it’s usually after being on a highway trip (65 - 75 mph) that it happens… like the post above, I don’t notice any loss of fuel economy or power, but my OCD will not allow that little yellow light to be lit and not knowing for sure what it is… Lol.

I recently dropped my fuel tank and replaced the fuel regulator. Still not getting more than about 35-38 psi pressure...so guessing I need a new pump. Thinking I will replace all the plastic elbows and evap lines while I'm in there.

Not in a hurry... everything is running fine, but my gas mileage is in the 8-10s.

When I first got the new TJ it was throwing the P0441 code and I replace the charcoal canister and the purge solenoid, and it went away, but last month I got rear ended on the driver side rear corner, and it may have knocked something loose with the gas tank, fill hose or something else back there, I may have to drop the tank and check it out…

My gas mileage is always between 10 - 12 mpg depending on whether most of the tank was used in town or on the highway… I know I need to regear, 3:07 gears and 33 tires are the problem with my gas mileage…

Welp, the lady accepted my offer on that 97 for my daughter, so I guess I'm getting another TJ tonight. Job 1 is drop the trans & replace the pump seal & see if that's all it needs. The problem is that my garage is suddenly full of immobilized vehicles...

JKU Trigger Warning - trying to sell this JKU but it's got an oil pressure code which is almost certainly the oil pump or the solenoid on the pump. Swapped it out last night, but broke the dipstick tube right at the upper pan, so I'm dead in the water until the new dipstick arrives. This jeep was supposed to be GONE before that new TJ arrived. Wife is not gonna like that, as previously mentioned.

Yeah but you're doing a solid for your daughter. Those a great redeeming points right there that should cover the JKU dilemma.

Are we taking wagers on that? I hear wives can be unpredictable... :D

Final design of the cabin air filter assembly has been glued up and installed...

Hoping to put together a bit of documentation and post a link to download the STL files this evening. (y)

In most cases, points are not allowed to carry over to the next day. However, since it's a good deed for one of Mama Bear's cubs, I think it stays.

She'll give me grief about it, but nothing too serous. You never really know in that moment, but it turns out I did in fact choose my wife wisely.

The jeep is about an hour away, and at a minimum needs a jump & 5 quarts of ATF to drive it home. Trying to decide if I should just show up with the new battery & ATF, or just jump it/fill it up, or trailer it as a last resort. I tend to not be risk averse because in a scenario like this it would normally be XJ buddy coming with me, but he's not available so it will be my wife....and while I chose wisely, she is not interested in waiting on the side of the road while I f around with a quasi-functioning jeep.
