Changed a tire. A new tire. A new 35x12.5 15 Mickey Thompson Baja Legend EXP tire. 546 miles on the new 35x12.5 15 Mickey Thompson Baja Legend EXP tire. I've only had the new 35x12.5 15 Mickey Thompson Baja Legend EXP tires for two weeks. Haven't even had a chance to go off road with the new 35x12.5 15 Mickey Thompson Baja Legend EXP tires.
Traveling down the highway at 70 MPH the Jeep settled in front and pulled hard to the driver's side. No bang, no boom, no real drama, just went flat. Got it to the side of the road and saw this:
A closer look at the sidewall tear. Looks like I scraped the sidewall on something, not uncommon when off roading, but there was nothing in the road to hit, no other vehicles nearby, nothing obvious to cause the blowout. Might be a puncture at the bottom of the tear, might not. Invisible nail? Laser hit from Low Earth Orbit? Incompetent assassination attempt with a .22? 'Tis a mystery.
I threw the spare on (definitely going to replace the OEM jack with something better, it worked as it should but it was cumbersome and more time consuming than it needed to be) and headed for home base. The wife called Discount Tire, I had paid for the certificates for return or replacement when I bought the tires. I'll be dropping the tire off tomorrow morning, they will have the new (new new?) tire mounted and balanced by the afternoon, no charge. Moving on.

Primed my grill started with a feathered/light coat,2 medium coats and I'll do one heavy coat tomorrow
BUT
However I did experience some wrinkling like if I put on paint stripper along the bottom of where the whole fold is at!
Im assuming is cause i wasnt fully able to get in there with sand paper ?
again not a bodyworking/paint guy just some 19 year old guy thata knows a teeny bit,so any info is very much appreciated!

I'd say contamination on the surface.
Sand it down, clean it well, and try again.
I'm no painter, but I work with some good ones and they say it's gotta be super clean or things go wrong and the paint will lift.
Get some wax and grease remover from your local auto parts. I echo the fact that you can't be too clean, especially before the primer.

What? No rollover crash and subsequent lawsuit against the vehicle manufacturer?
Installed a roof rack .. the air bags help with the sag too! Overall great experience installing everything.

Haha! I definitely got carried away, but it was fun seeing what the Jeep could handle. It drove surprisingly smooth all the way out to the desert.
Haha!! SO true, yet SO much more fun and satisfying to drive out to the desert compared to my Tacoma lol
I read it to my son one day and looked at my wife and said, "this mouse has ADD!" She then pointed out that I'm the mouse in the story. So now when I get derailed she'll ask something along the lines of "did you give the mouse a cookie?"
Funny enough (not really) I have both ADD&ADHD
Sucks cause in my head i want to do a million damn things in which I do but all that's done is just a beginning of process and then I forget sometimes
And that's why I'm broke,whole boat load of things I want to do and I start em and then I cant seem to finish what I started,I've been working on it but damn it I can't help it, I like to help others to make them feel happy but then I loose myself....(that being my progress and time)

Yes, I had a custom hitch made to get the bike higher and closer .. all while giving me a couple inches of space to tighten it down. Very pleased with the results I have to say .. and she handled great on the highway.
Yeah I was figuring so,but I did wipe the grill down 2 times with wax&grease remover and 1 times dry with another microfiber rag to dry it and got to spraying
Woke up this morning and it seems that the primer settled like nothing happened ,I wonder if it was just a lack of sanding it down since I don't remember hitting it much to be honest
Either way I'm gonna sand it down and repeat
Loaded mine up last night. Going to the Cohutta Wilderness this afternoon. Gonna finish exploring the Big Frog Loop. Hopefully we will find camping spots. Our group has now grown a bit. Young guy went with us last month. He enjoyed it so much he sold his side by side and bought a rack and RTT for his Tacoma. The female significant others in this area are now blaming me for the shrinkage in their bank accounts. You only live once.
now thats someone who uses a cargo rack for what it's intended for and not just to put on a duck show at the mall !
