Purchasing a 98 Sahara

To everyone in this group talking this

Ok so where are these 'real world' 98 Saharas Automatic with a hard top at the price point youre discussing? In the Austin area? That only require 2k of work to be perfect... Please do show us all these jeeps ill go buy one.

My 98' Sahara auto with a hardtop cost me $6,000 (96,000 miles), my 2000' Sahara cost $7,800, my 03' cost $8,700. I bought my 03' Rubicon for $9,500.

Steering is blown but he says the Jeep doesn't need maintenance because it's fine around town? 🤡I call bullshit on having owned and repaired 6 different 98's. If he's so good at it why isn't this one repaired already?? Sounds like another macho tactic to win an argument while he keeps repeating himself. Nothing makes a 98 special versus a 97' or a 99'. But go ahead keep collecting only 98's and not 97's or 99's.

I got an idea instead of telling us to post pictures of our Jeeps that we spent 100's of hours working on, why don't you post pictures of the 6 98's?

He is not a Jeep collector and we can tell because he keeps calling it a car over and over again, continuously embarrassing himself. "Guy who owns this car". More like guy who calls a Jeep a car and will likely never be seen again on this forum by the end of the week. I would steer clear of the Jeep and the guy. God knows what else is going on with it.

$11,250 is a bit steep in my opinion, but not unreasonable.
At the end of the day, it will sell for what the market will bear.
The Sahara has the dana44 rear so that is a consideration also.

are you sure about that ? my 97 Sahara doesn't have a 44. it's optional, my build sheet shows DANA 35/30 !

All the pushy used car salesman rhetoric aside. I don’t think 11 K is terribly overpriced for that jeep. I don’t think the seller would have any problem getting north of 10 K. But either party can walk away and let the market do its work.

Hey man, if you closed the sale, at the end of the day, hopefully both parties are happy. Hopefully you're searching for Jeep#7.
