Winter project: 2" (2" rear 3" front?) lift

I read somewhere on here that mixing 3" with 2" springs is a bad idea.

Just pointing out that if you build it level, it might squat in the rear when adding any gear or passengers.
That's why they come from the factory with a rake.

I just posted this in another thread yesterday, but I did the exact same thing a month ago and discovered that my TJ was completely intolerant of 2" of lift in the rear. Big time driveline shake, which precipitated mission creep, and resulted in a brand spankin' new DC driveshaft and SYE.

Be prepared.

Yea I'm crossing my fingers, praying and hoping that I don't have to go through that but I always prepare for the worst.

Yup, bought the full 3“ lift kit, front and rear adjustable track bar, and front adjustable LCA’s. All sitting in the garage waiting to be installed. With Christmas, and the new year, club events haven’t had time to get into to yet.

Winter is "Jeep Project Season" for me, I don't expose my TJ to road salt.

We really don‘t have that problem here in CA. Maybe if I make a trip up to mountains during a snow storm might get exposed to salt. Other then that I lucky in that area. The LJ doesn’t get driven too much lately as I decided to start taking the bus into the office. They have an express route that comes out to suburbs and the stop is about 1/2 mile away. Saves me money for more Jeep parts!!!😁

So.....I measured the distance between the shock mounts front and rear at ride height(with new springs, no shocks), against bump stops and full extension.

Here are my numbers:

F R

RH 19.75 18.5

EXT 22.75 21

BS 13.56 (9/16) 13

Travel 9.19 8

Up travel 6.19 5.5

Down travel 3 2.5

Did I figure my up and down correctly? (I'll be posting sketches of how I measured)

I did the flex test; center up, right up, left up, straight and full lock L&R. Rear, center up straight and L&R full lock I hit bump stops with no rubbing, right up and left up are a different story, as expected. Both R&L the tire(s) hit the disco'd and stowed sway bar with the driver side showing 3" gap ( shock mount 16 3/16) at the bump stop and passenger at 2.5"( shock mount 15 9/16). After thinking about it won't the tires just kinda nudge the sway bar from side to side?

This s#!t is giving me a headache trying to figure out how to describe my results in a way that makes sense. LOL

Trying to figure out which shocks will work best in front. The rears (RS 55241) seem to be a no brainer but the fronts seem to be less definitive.

EDIT: I deleted my spec chart for the shocks as I had mistakenly written the wrong numbers. Realizing my mistake, front shock selection was easy.

13”-21” = 8”
14.43”-23.84” = 9.41”

I used 9” travel shocks with my 3” BDS springs. (13.92”-22.92”)

Gave me 5.5” up and 3.5” down. Added JKS bar pin eliminator

I had my dimensions wrong, I got them from a chart on here that shows all the shocks for a TJ. I must have been a line off. SMH
Thanks for the correction.

EDIT: I found the chart and Yep, I wrote down the wrong numbers. It was a long day of crawling around on the garage floor.

I disconnected the rear track bar , unnecessarily as it turns out, from the frame side. I'm having trouble getting the bolt back in, (I put a smaller diameter bolt in temporarily)
Any tricks on aligning the holes?
