Not sure what I'm doing differently but I haven't even touched the door strike plate. I'm 6' 2" 195lbs. so I don't think it's height or size. Dumb luck is my guess.
I'm in the "never happened to me" camp. I'm not even sure how a belt loop could even get caught on the thing. It's not like it's a hook.
I'm guessing it's an entering/exiting method thing.
Probably exit technique and seat position as mentioned earlier. I'm 6 feet so the seat is all the way back. Since I've been in Florida and Georgia since 2004, lots of time with no doors so lots of just jumping in and out. I have to remind myself to watch the loop if I spin to left and start to slide off the seat. (Wedgy City and/or loop pop)
Oh man I kinda laughed when I seen this because it has happened to me maybe about 3 to 4 times over the years but on my HIP BONE and it HURTS like hell but never on my belt loop. First time hearing that. It’s defitently the way you get on the jeep .
