Heater control not working (just hot)

I'd have thought replacements should be fit and forget. With no set up needed. I've certainly not read of any issues with replacements that I recall.

I can't say I've paid much attention to them though as I have a 97 with the old cable operated heat door.

Yeah me too, but it’s clearly not happy for some reason, i will get the soldering iron out when i get time and see what i can figure out by swapping some bits about cheers

Right so this is what is happening with the replacement one. ( the small cog bottom is attached to some kind of position sensor and seams flimsy and i guess isn’t stopping the drive at the right place ), the original has 2 copper tanks which run on a track and is how it stops the drive ( these are obviously knackered).
So replacement was cheap Chinese shit i guess.
Still can’t fathom why it jitters though ( unless the position sensor is just rubbish.
I will be in the USA in Aug, so maybe someone can share a good online parts place and i can get a proper replacement then ? )

Ok trying this as a gif, you can see in the 2nd video , i remove the middle cog ( so isolating the drive sensor cog) and it all runs fine - obviously without stopping-
So that’s how i came to the conclusion the replacement was just rubbish
