Looking to keep a factory correct look and want a TJ rear tow hook.

I am aware of the aftermarket side mount options, thank you. I am looking to use something that is factory correct for the TJ. Surely a few of you took one off when you changed your rear bumper...

As an alternative.. has anyone mounted the OE JK/JL rear tow hook on the TJ frame? They seem pretty easy to find.

I see them frequently on wrecked TJ's. I'd check your local yards and see if they have one. It's a small item so doesn't get inventoried and won't show up on sites like Car-part.

I'm not sure about the length/width/thread pitch being the same, but at a minimum, the heads are different (torx vs hex) and the rear tow hook uses that special flag nut.

I think they are metric

was just a thought. somewhere i still have front hooks and bolts. my 06 X model didn’t have a rear hook when i got it a couple years ago. may have been removed when mopar receiver hitch was added. hitch may have been factory far as i know.

I am also looking for a factory TJ rear tow hook with original hardware (Especially Flange-Nut) if possible. Hoping someone might have one lying around somewhere 🙂. Thanks in advance.

Gave mine away already. The factory flag nut is odd. I’d come up with a better system. You can make your own flag nuts with an angle grinder, drill, and welder, or buy one through McMaster.

I think if you added a trailer hitch the factory tow hook is a no go? Anyone with experience there?
