They are a bit on the larger size, aren't they? Beautiful cars. The styling isn't for everyone, but I always liked 'em.

I don't think the torsion bar suspension for Packard came about until the mid-'50s. Now you've piqued my curiosity...

"Cheated" and looked it up. As I suspected, it debuted in '55 (can't get any more "mid-'50s" than that...)

It's unsafe to take pictures and drive at the same time. I tried to find one representative of the last Cougar of that vintage I saw on the road. I think most were cash for clunkered.

I have seen some really nice Cougars.....oh wait wrong type.

The '55 and '56 Packards are stunning, especially in the tri-color paint.
