Off Road Equipment Storage Question

Mine is not that exact one but it's certainly close enough.

I picked it up on sale a while back.

While I'm certain that it's not as nice as the more expensive units, it works just fine for my needs.

Lots of lockable storage and plenty of load rings for strapping stuff on top of it.

Notice it says for Hardtop models.

That's because the storage bins on the side will interfere with your soft top hardware if you lower your top.

I just didn't install mine.

prices like this force a guy to get creative :ROFLMAO:

We are always asking our neighbors on our street if they want to go on adventures with us,they all always say,we cant(we have to take care of the dogs)and they end up staying home.

They are cute loveable anchors. Some people take it too far and act like they're toddlers that need attention 24/7 though. I've probably been guilty of it before but I can leave him outside for an entire day at least. It's harder for multi day though

Yep,kinda sad,two of our neighbors have never really left the state and are in their 70s,and get this, the kids left the dogs(four large German shepherds)with them to care for?

Damn. I wouldn't want FOUR of those fuckers unless I had like a 50 acre ranch

Dumb parents. Crazy what people allow.

Having a dog is like having a two year old child. Our lifestyle precludes us from having a dog, too much travel. I have shop cats which require much less attention. I can leave them for weeks with large food and water containers. My Son or Daughter will check up every few days to make sure there’s still food and water.
I have friends who can’t be out for more than a few hours because they need to take care of their babies. I have several friends who used to travel with us regularly when they were working. Now that they are retired they can no longer travel with us because they have to do full time daycare for their grandchildren.
To each his own.

The few hours thing I don't really understand. A dog can sit in a kennel for 8-10h just fine.

I can understand the affection people have for their dogs, but when they become "fur babies" is where I get a little suspect.

It's a dog, not a person.

I'm reminded of a post on the NextDoor app (has become a dumpster fire) that my wife showed me.

A lady was looking for a rental home and was complaining that no one would rent to her because all the owners were just greedy.

When it became known that she had 5 "fur babies" that came with her, everyone pointed out that her babies were the reason no one would rent to her, which she took great offense to.

A good friend of mine owns several apartment complexes.

After many requests, they decided to allow pets at one of their locations as a test.

It was a disaster.

People will let their pets destroy a place and wonder why that's a problem.

I agree but many people don’t kennel train their dogs or have high strung breeds.

I have a Australian Cattle dog (Blue Heeler) and a Australian Shepherd, both in an outside kennel.

It's 10x30 with a self feeder (if I am going to be gone several days) but I feed them daily.

They also get backyard run time every pretty day we have.

Wife has a Schnauzer, nuff said.

The insurance company for my rentals will refuse to cover me if there are certain breeds of dogs in the rental. My insurance company does a drive by and drone inspection twice a year. If they see the wrong breed of dog in the yard I get a notification. Also dogs cause damage and I end up spending hours cleaning up fur and repairing damage such as scratched doors. If they have a small dog the rent is adjusted up $50-$100 per month and the deposit increases accordingly.

Yes, certain dog breeds are not allowed by insurance. When I got a divorce 20+ years ago, I had to find a place to rent with two boxers. Many would say, 'I'll have to check if those are on the list.' Boxers aren't on the list, never had land lord say they couldn't rent to me.

From memory, here's some of them:

Pitbull (worst for insurance claims)
German Sheppard
Rottweiler
Doberman
Chow
Akita
Husky
Cane Corso

There's a few others.

I know I said boxers aren't on the list. However, my current boxer is extremely jealous and will try to go after other dogs. So I don't bring him in the Jeep. Seems like people on the trails often let there dogs out without a leash. He would surely try to bite any dog that got close enough.

Back to the topic, I ordered the knock off storage box on Amazon for $223. That should solve my storage issues.
