Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ engine mounts

What did you do to your TJ today?

I wonder if it had an interior water leak somewhere for a long time. My friend had an XJ like that. The cowl was just dumping water onto the passenger floorboard under the carpet every time it rained. He noticed the floor was wet and we pulled the carpets to find most of the passenger floor was completely missing. The other side was mint and it was a southern Jeep so the rest of the body was fine. It had just been leaking like that for years and the carpet acted like a sponge.

I think that's what happened. The whole interior was coated in some kind of liner which probably trapped the moisture and it snowballed from there.

Had the local shop order me 4 new 31's. The Duratracs are 280 a tire down here and I can't afford that right now. I only paid 120 a piece for them. Besides, I do more on than off road, so MT's are kinda pointless. Pic of the style I had ordered. Ridgecrawler RT's.

Those tires get good reviews. (y)

Spending the night at my brother's in Greenback, TN tomorrow and then
Dude! Nice job with the battery box. But isn't it a paint in the butt to take off if you need to check anything? I especially like those two connectors on the top face.

No, I don't have it wired to the Jeep as a dual battery yet. All I have to do is tilt the passenger seat up and I can grab it by the handles and lift it out easily.

Over the past two days I've done a full brake overhaul. New Powerstop OE full replacement drum kit in the rear plus new wheel cylinders. And a new 15" BBK from Black Magic and extended brake lines up front. All that's left to do is bleed and break in.

Painted dash and center console and reinstalled. Better than I expected.

ran out of paint, super cold hit and problems with well... so finally getting back to it. Painting door panels and visors next.

Paint appears to adhere well but the sides of center console are being marked up by seat belt buckles...

Installed touch screen radio with backup camera. Radio sucks but generally runs android auto ok. Backup camera great.

Installed a new stereo and kicker speakers in the soundbar. Need new ones for the front now. And figure out the factory subwoofer. Worked before I installed this. Used all the wires🤷‍♂️

Majority of factory subwoofers require a "control module/interface" to retain them when using an aftermarket headunit.

Dang phone kicked me offline before I finished replying. But IF our Jeeps don't require that adapter, I'd start by checking the remote turn on wire (sends on/off signal to the amp), and the grounds.

Worked on my Jeep today. Cleaned up some fraying electrical tape and failing loom. Filled up my water tank, built a frame for my fridge to sit in, and built a space for my lithium battery to sit in.View attachment 672436

Please tell me more about this battery box. Did you make it? Or is it off the shelf?

They did, but they've never worked. I know TJ rears are weak, but like literally barely engaged and the adjusters weren't working. I decided that while I was doing the front I was just going to start fresh on the rear. The full kit is only like $160 so it's a fairly reasonable price to know their condition. Also, the actual drum was pretty glazed and some of the springs were stretched out or rusty.
