Lilo and Stitch (1997) (The remake is an abomination) (Full of heart, a very insightful movie with lots to say, the art style is Great)

These 3 stand out.
Star Trek wasn't a particularly good movie, but it wasn't bad either. It was - to my mind - more of a celebration "Hey, we have great models and effects too!" Plot was a bit weak and silly at times, but its still worth watching.
10 Commandments is one of my favorite movies of all time, and I'm not even a monotheist. But the other one I'll recommend to go with it is "Cleopatra". If your local theatre is having a "classics" day, these are worth watching on the big screen. Oh - and "Ben Hur" too.
I've watched the Green Mile twice. I'll NEVER watch it again. Both times that movie just DESTROYED me - I was a sobbing sack of jello for hours. Which of course, says that it is probably one of the very BEST movies of all time - when your audience feels something, you've succeeded in your performance!
And in an unrelated vein, don't forget about "Metropolis".
I agree with the sentiment of The Motion Picture. It is hardly a "story' and more of a return to Trek with them showing off the Budget and the fancy special effects they used. Wrath of Kahn and The search for Spock are excellent stories, with Nimoy taking great care with the characters and the plot. The voyage home is a great movie and fun story though it has flaws. The others, The Final Frontier and the undiscovered country are not my favorites but are fun watches. I wish Shatner was more involved with Trek now, as it has just become sloppy garbage and is un-watchable.
Ten Commandments is a Yearly watch for the wife and I, I love the sound track, the acting is great too. We have the double disc which includes Ben Hur and I like it very much.
Green mile is great, That coupled with The Shawshank redemption are both great movies. I am by no means a fan of Stephen King (or Richard Bachman) but he does have some stories that have translated well to the screen. In fact I prefer the movies more than his books. He's a weird dude.
Is this Two Lane Blacktop? I"ve always wanted to see this but cant find it anywhere.

Also A River Runs Through It is a fantastic film. I first watched it as a kid when we were staying at a motel - the motel had a communal TV room and this was on VHS sitting on the TV stand. So we plugged it in and I've watched it probably 100 times since .
My only wish with the ST franchise, is that they hadn't used "Space Seed" as their major foundation. It just wasn't my favorite TOS episode - it was "ok", but not great. I would have much sooner had them use "The City on the Edge of Forever" - what a wasted opportunity! Even at least one of the newer ST movies was still re-working "Space Seed" - its tiresome. With that said, Monteblan (sp?) played his role VERY well.
I remember when it was shown every year at Easter.
I can tell you exactly how he comes up with his material: He can remember his dreams. We've all had completely off the wall dreams that most of us can't remember - that's his source!
It is. It reminds me of a completely different film, "All The RIvers Run", an old Australian mini series. Its available on DVD, but the "good one that you want" is only VHS resolution. There are a couple or three DVD editions, only the VHS transcription is complete - the others cut out one part or another. In any event, a fun watch.

I have only seen a river runs through it on VHS, in fact I think I prefer VHS!!
