I have the impression people are trying to get away from overcrowding which causes high prices and too many rules among other things. I don't really blame them. You put too many rats in a cage and they kill each other, no matter how beautiful the cage is. Who doesn't want to get away from that?

Not to get political but...

I was under the impression they were running from the absolute shitting mess they've created in CA by "sending the babies for the beer" for many decades now. Pick stupid "leaders", win stupid prizes. If we aren't careful, we'll end up with it on a national level via this greasy piece of garbage...he's got presidential aspirations, for sure...

Political issues really get at the core of how we define ourselves and our fears. So its not surprising political conversations can be so inflammatory. Add to that the fact that most people drawn to leadership have huge egos and ethics that are often lacking so it can be hard to support even a leader whose policies you might agree with.

For me, the sharply defined black and white world of my youth has faded to grey. That addition of nuance to my own thought process as well as spending more time trying to understand how other people's situations influence their behavior can be helpful but also paralyzing. In the end, I just try to do the right thing as best I can determine. Hopefully I am occasionally successful.

I'd be okay with most all of it if they (ours in particular) didn't blatantly lie in order to pander to mass quantities of Low IQ voters and then the LIQVs believe them and somehow think they are better for it. We have a very large quantity of fuckwits supporting our .gov and his assertion that our highest in the nation gas prices are due to the war in Iran and are therefore the fault of the .prez.

Our state .gov has waged war on big oil and in particular refineries which is/was our only supplier for our highly specialized special blend fuel to the point they are shutting down and leaving. The war is supposedly on pollution so their answer is to use cargo ships to get fuel into the state via the Panama Canal. That doesn't really pencil out on balance.

Wales and a few other similar minded countries are taking steps to put this on a better path which we really need to adopt here. Any politician or lawyer who gets caught lying will be fired and prevented from holding office again and the lawyers will be disbarred. (paraphrased)

Sounds reasonable .

Very low humidity and dew points would be nice. 🥳

It's not as rosy as it seems. Last summer I spent a couple days working around the mother-in-law's house on the Gulf Coast. I was soaking wet from 8+ hours of sweating in the 90 degree heat and high humidity, but at no time did I feel like I was in danger of heat stroke or heat exhaustion. I can't do that here in Phoenix as it's just way too hot to be exposed for that length of time.
