Who lives close to Beasley Knob that is willing to give us an update??

This was posted on the Georgia Outdoor News site about it.

Recently did much of it on my dirtbike with friends.....if your jeeping BEWARE...serious bolders,deep off camber ruts,steep mountain trails so once you go down that mtn side you may not make it back up....seriously jeepers should walk the downhills and uphills first,especially since you may not be able to backup either(single track).

Not close enough for a casual look, but Beasley's knob is well maintained by a local Off roading group. Sounds to me Dirtbikers did not carry a map hence the lack of trail numbers in their post. Beasley's is great for the fact that many of the trails are challenging for both 4 wheels and 2 but the challenge is not well communicated to the group of people looking for more casual off roading.

I’ve not been there, but from what I’ve gathered over the years is that there are a few tricky spots and if it’s been rainy and gotten muddy, there’s a lot more.

Sounds like a plan!! It will have to be next month. I will check the calendar and let you know which Saturday!!

I went about this time last year. Most of the guys I went with were in mildly built JKs. There were enough mild to moderate trails to make a day of it. IIRC there is only one section of trail there that I would consider difficult and we skipped that section. They often will close the trails there with little notice if they start to wash out from rain.

If I'm free I'd love to go with ya'll if you don't mind riding with my old and ugly Commando.

I've run it in my JL back on 37s. Watch for rain closures, it took me several trip attempts to hit it open.

93B is 40s territory and is by far the worst. We ran it top to bottom on 37s and drug skids for a good chunk.

The rest of it is far more reasonable. I ran it wet, some of the climb sections are thin clay coatings directly on rock, makes it winch city in the wet.

John,

If y'all are going to make a weekend of it, I don't think you'll get more than a day out of Beasley. There are some decent easy trails in the Blue Ridge Area and Iron Mountain is a private park down in Dahlonega.

I know it make me sound like a pussy being from down here, but I'd consider holding off if it rains heavy the day or so before, even if they lift the closure.

As far as I know I'm free that day. I could probably get some guys from my local club to come ride too

I'm going to Windrock for several days in mid June, so a mid May ride would be good to find what I need to fix and fit it before then
