And yeah, the 2nd one looks great. The wobble on the first one could be misleading. The stack of crap that results in the input shaft location is really "balancing" on a thrust washer the size of a quarter. It has a little hole in it to center it on the nub of the output shaft. So if you're building it vertically, even when you have all the teeth on the frictions aligned, it will still wobble a bunch. It will wobble more if those teeth aren't aligned....but if they aren't aligned usually that means that the direct drum isn't seated all the way down, which will prevent the pump from fully seating.
Also, if you have that band screw tightened down there should be pretty much no side-to-side play on that shaft regardless.
From the other direction, that fiber thrust washer rides between the machined recessed face of the drum and the back side of the pump. Endplay means that those 2 faces aren't really in contact, which means the drums are kinda floating. I would 100% not send that as-is.
What is the status of that other transmission?
