Hey Mac I am about to relocate the wiring to the fuel pump that gets smashed by the track bar. Didn't you do that recently? Do you remember a timeframe I might find it on your thread

He severed it during his Rubicon trip in summer of 2024 2025. Here's the first post I could find mentioning a fix:

Edited because, once again, I've proven my human flaws... 😬

Thank you!! Damn that was 2 years ago already. I thought it just happened.

Is that a paracord net?

Mostly an elastic truck net. Augmented with paracord. Plan on tying a custom net at some point.

Transmission, transfer case out. Engine dangling from a chain...but tractor supply closes soon and we need some 7/16 and 3/8 bolts to get the engine on the stand.

Prior to departing home I went to pull the pilot bearing and the PO on the engine had ripped all the sides of and it wouldn't pull. Tried a bunch of tricks and then ran a bead inside. There are two pilot bearings...big one for the bushed crank... little one for one with the bushing. (Pictures in above post didn't have time to explain.)

O'Reilly's has Clevite-Mahle bearings and get us everything by 1 pm. Downside is the only rear main they have available is a Felpro.

Why is that a downside? I thought Felpro was good stuff?

I went through 3 on my original engine and they all leaked. I then did the RMS the fourth time with a Mopar and it weaped. My stroker I used a Mahle Clevite and it's perfect.

I'll admit the first time or two with the Felpro I might not have applied enough red loctite or RTV...so let's say I screwed up #1 and #2...but three should have worked.

Honestly I think the best fix for a leaking rear main is a new balanced stroker crank.

=)

I found the best fix for my RMS leak to be an engine skid..... because now it doesn't drip on the ground so I don't see it! 😂
