Happy 4th of July 250th

I graduated HS in 1976 the 200th anniversary yr. We got a red white and blue tassel along with one with our school’s colors. At our local HS graduation nothing was mention. It was a big deal everywhere back then. Murals pasted on everything and 200th anniversary editions of many products in the stores for weeks leading up to the 4th.
Now for the 250th there is practically nothing just a foot note. Newer generations have little pride in OUR country. Sad to witness the change.
I’ve traveled the world and no country comes close to what we have here.
And yes the American Flag waves on the flagpole in front of my house as it has for 40+ yrs.

I too graduated high school in 76. School colors were green and gold. Our yearbook was red, white and blue with SPIRIT OF 76 on it

Taking our boys that will turn 4yrs old later this month to their first fireworks. We'll see how that goes with the noise - we'll take ear protection to offer if they get bothered by the bigger bangs.

With weather also expected to be 100F until dusk, it'll be an adventure. We'll have plenty of water, cool towels, and options to entertain until the big show. My wife has been amping them up all week for fireworks (explaining big booms, etc.).

We took then to NASCAR race a month ago and we hoped to get 10 minutes into the race with them — they lasted 3 hours of racing, so we're hopeful they'll enjoy this noisy entertainment too.

Taking them to another race later this summer, too because the can't stop talking about the one we attended 😄

I hope it goes well! We had to walk my daughter away from the fireworks the first couple years when we got up close (because I like the sensation of the boom). This year, they're all canceled so we saw a drone show tonight. It's not as good, but it's at least something... despite them having the sun rise over the mountains
:ROFLMAO:

Is the HOA specifically banning the American flag or is the HOA enforcing an existing rule on permitted decor and design that everyone within that covenant controlled community agreed to by living there? The distinction is important and Steve Hilton should know this.

Screw that. Dad’s dad was a ww1 vet. Dad was a ww2 vet. I’m a navy vet and my squadron attempted the rescue of the Iranian 50 hostages. If you cannot love the USA leave. Just saying.

Take it up with the HOA you agreed to live under. See if it cares about any of that, and then you move. Freedom! 🇺🇸
