Well, I verified a suspicion I've had for a month or two now. Hooked a fuel pressure gauge up and had 0psi with the Jeep off. Running showed 49psi. On shutdown, the pressure immediately dropped to zero.
I remember seeing people say you can replace the check valve by itself without replacing the whole pump, but I've never done that. Any info on this? Link to the right check valve?
I have a Delphi pump that has been otherwise flawless. This is the 2nd or 3rd one that's been installed on this jeep, but the first two were replaced due to a sloppy install at the shop on the first one (I tried to tell him he was doing it wrong...) and a manufacturing defect on the 2nd one that we didn't catch upon install.
I hate to have to drop the tank again, but I kind of need to repaint the gas tank skid anyway. I just don't want to have to do this all the time. I'll just prime the system before cranking until i decide on a solution or get up the motivation to work on it.
