I have a request for the forum. I own a 2003 TJ Rubicon Wrangler. Recently, I removed the spare tire carrier which the previous owner installed (it was a heavy and bulky after market install which contained a swivel making it very difficult to open the rear hatch). Currently searching for a less bulky but sturdy spare tire carrier which will give me easy access to the rear hatch. Would greatly appreciate any information to include vendors, links, etc. Thank you.

I also have the MORryde and found it good for a 33 but not quite satisfactory for a 35, though certainly better than nothing. I stopped carrying a spare locally, and keep it in the jeep on trails, so the MORryde is just there for other stuff like rotopax cans. And because my original hinges were trash and I threw them away.

I have the Morryde tailgate reinforcement and hinges. And a Rough Country tire carrier for my 35s. It works but it's heavy.

If I did it again I'd go with @Fluxor 's aluminum magic.
