Crap, hail wrecked my hood

Well hail wrecked my hood. Luckily everywhere else on the Jeep is ok.

Anyone ever go to a paintless repair place? Did it look good? How much did it cost?

Maybe I just wait until I can buy a new hood. My comprehensive has a 500 deduct when I swore I put it at 100. Bummer

Paintless dent removal is for little dings. If the hood is littered with hail dents, you'll need a body shop to fix it the right way and repaint it.

I guess it goes without saying that...

It’s lightly dimples all over. I can live with it for the moment

Darn hail. Well at least the spiderwebbed clear coat ain’t the ugliest part of the hood now

Down here in Broomfield, at Jax, there is a huge trailer set up in the parking lot advertising repair for hail damage cars. Don't know the cost, might be worth checking out if you get down this way.

I'd look out for a used one. I've seen them pretty cheap and it's gotta be the easiest body panel to replace.

I scoured craigslist for my new hood. Between Craigslist, ebay, and forum classifieds I bet I had found 6-7 different hoods within a couple hours of me.

Just got one and am not sure I’m going to use it. Edges are very thin and I have cracks in two spots already along the edges. One side of the hood (where a Rubicon sticker would run) is pretty wavy. Also has lots of pinholes (expected). Will need a few hours of prep before it’s paintable. It also sits high in the back, so it doesn’t line up with the cowl very well. I’d pass on it.

I'd give a PDR place a call if I were you. I have about 60 to 80 dings in my hood from hail and I was quoted $350.
