Is this noise from the rear wheels normal?

Hi all, Im trying to diagnose my noisey drivetrain and while spinning the rear wheels by hand I came across this noise, Not sure if it's normal or not ? dosnt sound great to me but then this is my first 4X4 so honestly I wouldn't know, it's the same on both sides with both rear wheels of the ground at the same time, it sounds a lot like it's coming from the hub end rather than the diff end but im not sure if the noise would travel down through the axel ? the front wheels make no noise at all when spinning them up.

That's not normal. It could be a bad bearing, or it could be something inside such as a the differential.

If it sounds like it's coming from the hub, it's more than likely a bearing that's going bad. I'd have someone spin it though and listen too the diff cover to see if it is coming from there though.

Thanks for the reply, I did managed to Spin the wheels while my head was agains the difference and it did sound quite clunky in there, also when I was spinning the rear drive shafts by hand it kept jamin up slighy and would only continue to spin if I used twould hands to get it past that point, the rig was quite rusty underneath when I purchased it so wasn't sure if it was the u joints locking up, that said I don't think that has anything to do with this noise as it's continuous

Has it always made this noise since you got it? I'm asking because I'm pretty sure that some of the "always-on" style lockers make this noise all the time.

I'm not educated enough on all the lockers out there, so I'm not 100% sure. @Jerry Bransford might know.

It's made the noise in this video since I've owned it, but Ive only had it a couple of months and have only done about 250 miles in it

As for the noise in my first video with the wheel's of the ground I only had it off its wheels for the first time a couple of days ago so not sure how long they have been clunking like that ?

Hmmm. Maybe u joints. Maybe spider gears. Does it make the noise with both wheels spinning the same direction?

Not yet, replaced all the driveshafts u joints today, replacing the rear alxe bearings next weekend, hoping that is what it is

Just found this, the last comments states it's normal ? Can someone confirm what there rear wheels sound like when spinning one wheel on an open diff, and if the statement was correct wouldn't it do the same on the front which I don't think it dose ?

Spider gears make that kind of noise and it is normal.
