My bad. Its definitely worth the money. He worked so hard and so long on it, it’s difficult to imagine selling it now.

If I was able to get a loan for that much, I'd buy it in a heartbeat and sell my TJ to offset the cost. However, banks won't loan more than KBB or NADA value on a vehicle, so there's no way I could swing it unfortunately, even though I could afford the monthly payment.

Such a shame!

There's one for sale in Huntsville in the low 20's. I'm trying to remember more about it. It's an LS.

Lightstream does ;)

They just give you cash starting around 4% for private sales and don't care what vehicle you buy with it.

Oh yes, I'm aware. My credit isn't quite good enough for them to approve me though I'm sure. Nothing negative on my credit at all, I just have to build up my credit score.

Lightstream is awesome for the no questions asked loan, but the IR isn’t really that good. But when it’s the only way to get the money for a Jeep like that it’s all you can do. A bank won’t give you that amount, so Lightstream to the rescue.

Yeah with TJ/LJ's values seemingly only going up and most major banks not financing anything older than 10 years, and credit unions not over 100k miles, it's going to be the only option for many.

I'm sure around low to mid 700's you'd be fine
I've read comments where people have in the low 800's, and are still getting rejected. Maybe there's more to it than the applicants are letting on, I don't know, but I do know that the risk of them doing a hard inquiry is pretty great. I'm a couple points below the 800 threshold, and I don't want to risk screwing that up with a hard inquiry, and a possible rejection. Or maybe I'm just scared they'd actually approve me, and then I'd have to go spend money... :D

Yep, mines only mid 600s right now unfortunately, otherwise I would do it!

What I would do is finance it through Lightstream, then sell my TJ, pay off a good chunk of the loan that way, then move it to my credit union for much better interest rates. They always give me great interest rates!

I was looking at an AEV Cherokee few months back and I got approved for 23k through them. Credit score is 830. I was going to do it, but had second thoughts.

I have spent so much on my TJ since purchasing it less than a year ago that I refer to it as "Mark's Year" (my first name). I flat have never done this before! So, the notion of having the resources (loan) to spend on another toy actually spooks me a little. If I did do it, I would likely spend the dough on a vintage lead sled, or a street rod. It would be a one-time thing. It would have to be a one-time thing! ;)

Damn... I tried Lightstream just to see. They approved me for $15,000, which isn’t enough. It’s all because of my credit score which is only 662, so “average”. Sucks too, because I could afford the payment. Even if I sold my TJ, I still owe 10k on it, so it wouldn’t be enough even then.

I need to find someone with a perfect credit score to co-sign for me. :D

If I had this thing, I wouldn’t need to buy anymore mods, haha! :p

Sucks when something like this pops up and you don’t have the means to get it, even though you could afford the monthly payment.
