Ok, I'm installing new Headlights, that have a wire for daytime running lights. (halo light, ya, ya, I know most hate them)

I think I just want them on all the time, and not have them wired into my auxiliary lights, since I'd then have to turn them on. Anyone know which line I can piggyback? All I have on hand I a 10 amp one.

You could probably piggy back number 17 or 37. Either of those would have power as soon as you turn the ignition.

Well, I tried 17, 20, 22, 26 so far. All are hot, the entire time. Am I gonna have to wire to up under the glove box? If so, I gotta go rewire, darn it. I have it all set to piggy back one of these, but so far, all are hot, even without key in ignition.

I ran into the same issues with a set of Opar LED headlights with DRL. Initially I was going to tap the turn indicators with the parking lamp. But then like they said earlier I would have to run with the parking lights on. So now the option is bring it into the cabin with the radio or install a relay and switch.

If you follow your wiring from headlights to big connector on the right side down below brake booster. On my 2004 jeep wrangler tj I found the yellow and black wire at the big black connector. I piggy backed that wire since it was just a power wire with switch on for parking lights. I did also add a inline fuse as well. The DRL system works like a charm. Also I added ferrite beads to my headlight connector wiring harness as some jeeps will have radio fm/am frequency issues through EMF when aftermarket LEDS or CREE are installed. Also don't worry your DRL will not blink when turning. Hopeople this helps.

Did you ever figure out how the DLRs wire to the fuse box? Either in engine bay or behind the glove box?

Sorry for delay. But yes Parking lights will be on as well. If you attempt to splice into other wires such as radio as mentioned above you will have major issues with EMI interference. electromatic interference which will be heard through your head unit if you have it turned on you hear a popping sound. This will in turn require you to run ferrite beads on most of your LED wiring harness connector to eliminate that. The only way that you're going to successfully run the daytime running lights independently is run an independent toggle switch with accessories fuse into power with ignition switch on.

I understand the concept of you wanting the independence of daytime running lights and if so you will have to definitely run a separate switch, you can easily piggyback into another wire that has power with ignition on but again Emi will cause popping when turn signals or turn headlights are turned on so on. I'm not sure what you're Jeep model is and year but there is select year models that do not like LED lights. Mine happens to be a 2004 Jeep Wrangler X

Also if your headlights do not offer EMI and EMF elemination then you will definitely have to consider piggybacking it to the yellow black wire . If they do have it then obviously you can piggyback into a power wire with ignition switch on

I will have to ask my friend if he has any of these issues. I do know the set of halo lights i installed for him were cheap Amazon knock offs. I know I used a fuse tap and ran a new wire from the fuse box to to head lights. But he never said that the radio was popping. He also is still running the factory radio.

If he is running a stock radio then he more than likely want have the issues as stated above but this isnt always the case. This issue can arise with a aftermarket head unit.
