Hood decals

How do you guys feel about hood decals? I have been looking at some. I was also thinking, with my hood cover on there (I just refuse to call it a bra!). It may look too busy up there. If I do apply some decals, they would be subtle. Black in color. I am looking at some like this.

I have also seen sets of Sport decals. Are these offical Jeep decals or cheap knock off's? I would hate to take my original decals off for something that looks like chit.

Keep in mind Travis that hood bras normally eventually cause more damage to the hood than they prevent. There are several problems with hood bras... they cause the paint to fade unevenly, leaving the area under the hood darker than what isn't covered. The bigger problem is the dirt or dust that works in under the cover that the bra then methodically rubs against the paint. I ran a bra on a car or two when I was young but later figured out it was better for the hood paint to not run one at all.

I'm not a fan of decals, but if I wanted to protect my paint I would use a nice paint protection film. Applied correctly, they are so good these days that you'll never even know it's there.

Boy times two or three on this. I have ruined my paint on several vehicles with stupid bras. I remove everyone I can find.

Sorry man. The things just trap stuf under them and then any motion of the bras grinds against the paint and uses all the trapped stuff as a sanding disk.

I understand how that will happen. Sucks because I think it looks nice on there.

I like them, specifically the Army Jeep varieties. I will be doing something with mine soon. There are 2 jeeps in my neighborhood that look way to much like mine, and I am pretty sure they were not around before I bought mine.

I like the second link better as well. I like the original look, and they come in just about any color you could want.
