I am looking at 2004 Silver TJ with 4.0 and 5 speed. 103,500 miles hard top, Dick Cepek wheels, 31 Goodyear duratracs, looks very clean in pictures and texting the guy he said rust free frame.

For some reason I cannot get link to craigslist but if you looking in Des Moines IA Jeep Wrangler 2004 it will show if anyone has time to look? Please let me know what opinions you all have I am trying to copy pictures to post.

I forgot his asking price is $12,000

Looks real nice and straight.

If you don't buy it ,at least let your foot slip off the clutch accidentally and ram the jk in the garage .

Then say something like , oh geeze.

I cannot believe the price of these TJ I have only been looking for a few weeks so no hurry. I looked at several rusted out one for $6,000 to $8000 range. I figured I better spend more to get a better one!

To me. In my opinion it is to high on the price. But that might be the going rate in your area.

I year older 30k more miles. But a Rubicon

Same year same miles no hard top. But upgraded

I have been looking at that first Rubi in the classifieds I do like it not sure on color I do like the 2nd one you posted real well but over 1200 miles away!

Let me tell you about these things and prices.

This is hard to grasp ,but true:.

Bone up on what you want ...color , features , mileage ,condition, etc.

Be prepared to buy.

Pounce when it's right . Only when .

The best.deals will be gone by the time you.run it by all.of us , they sell that quick.

Typically, you get what you paid for ...but there's a catch.

I dropped 20,500 plus tax on an 03 with 21,000 miles .

Needed tires , a better lift , shocks, u joints and regeared for the big tires.

Try to see the big picture , especially if it's been lifted .

I was afraid of the high miles! I kind of like the wheels!

103,000 is not high miles for a 14 year old vehicle if it really has no rust, but be really careful, people either don't know what they're talking about or hide the rust.

The price is pretty close. So you know, that hardtop did not come with it, that's the top for an older TJ. It's not a problem just an observation.

Does it have the Dana 44 or the Dana 35?

Thanks for the words Codaman. I have only been reading on forum for a few days about rust, where to look on frame for it etc etc!

And no I did not know that about the hardtop.

Not sure on Dana 44 or Dana 35 I hope to check this when I look at and drive.

Thanks, also if it is all he said it is, I plan to throw about a $10k offer at him and see where that gets me!

Wheels are a matter of opinion. I like DC-2’s, but I’m biased. :D Nice looking TJ your eyeing. As you know, don’t by rust, it ain’t worth nothing.

May go like my negotiation did.

I asked if they'd take less.

They said no.

I see people negotiating themselves out of these all the time.

I don't like the wheels, but it looks clean otherwise. Of course NOTHING matters until you see the frame close up.

Very true Chris I have been reading up on a lot of your posts the last few days. I was planning on buying this coming Spring but this may be a good deal if it has NO RUST!

I hope to snap some pictures of frame too for some more solid advice from the forum.
