That one is actually a nicely done up TJ with top-shelf mods, not the cheap low quality stuff.
Don't be afraid of mods if they are the more expensive ones. Generally if someone put the expensive stuff on it, it means they had a lot of money, which usually means they had the money to take care of it properly.
The ones to stay away from are the ones that have something like a cheap 2" Rough Country lift and a 3" body lift with some off brand Chinese tires. Those are the ones where you know the previous owner was being as cheap as he could, which usually isn't a good thing.
Generally speaking, names like Currie, Savvy, GenRight, Metalcloak, JKS, OME (and a number of others I'm forgetting) are brands that are known for making high quality, top-shelf parts. It's the Rough Country, Rubicon Express, Skyjacker, and others that make the "okay" parts. Not to say they are all crap, I'm just saying that if someone is willing to spend big bucks on something like a Currie lift, then you can probably assume they are the type of person who has a good amount of money to spend on taking care of their vehicle.
This is my experience with Jeeps at least!

I want to say that most vehicles that have name brand parts are most likely going to be done right... But honestly there is a lot going on in correctly lifting a vehicle and keeping it so it handles and drives well. If you don't know , try to find someone to evaluate or really bone up on what to look for .
I hear the "is this rust ok" question a lot here .
I don't won't to offend anyone fighting rust , and hate that they have to deal with it in many areas .
If it's a serious amount of money , and you plan to keep it , .avoid rust completely. My brother is an auto body man ..when I was a kid , he showed me rust on a vehicle ..and said , see this ? It's cancer on a car. My brother is also in prison . So take it for what it's worth.
I understand wanting a Jeep , and wanting one so badly you want some rust to not be a problem .
The biggest reason to avoid it isn't money , it's so that you can enjoy your jeep and feel good about it . I hate to see a toy , or a gift you give yourself , or whatever you want to call it , be a headache for someone.
I mean in no way to offend anyone with a rust issue ,salted roads save lives, and I'm on a tangent here .

I paid what I felt was top dollar , and then spent a lot because I didn't know the Jeep had a cheap lift , old tires , needed regearing and love. The only consolation I get is that I'm not throwing good money after bad .

I have other pictures it is mint. These were just extra pics that I had dealer take. I have VIN car fax etc everything checks out good the problem it is 1200 miles from home. Does this underside look good?
$16,500 is asking these are all I can find now for pic I must have deleted most, damn it!
Appears genuine , be sure it's got locker switches on dash , has disc brakes all around , and the lockers work , Dana 44 front and rear , 6 th digit of Vin is a 6 .

Yes 6th digit is a 6 and I ran VIN on Jeep cust svc site. Dana 44 front and rear 4:11 rear axle ratio, 4 wheel disk, interior looks flawless in pics but how can I buy a vehicle without seeing it in person or driving it???
Don't and insist on meeting them somewhere public because they know you're carrying cash .
Also if they want to sell it they can meet you halfway.
You could even have another Forum member in that area possibly look at it.

A dealer has it so I would have to fly in and I am traveling some on business so I would not be able to travel for about 3 weeks. The dealer sold new and it is one owner and he traded it back in to same dealer. Car fax shows all this detail and dealer did all maintenance extremely well documented. If I pull the trigger I am going to have to without seeing it in person. What if trans is bad or something else major?
I assume they will hold it if I give credit card for say $2000 down. I have cash or check when and if I fly in.
I'm afraid of giving too much detail someone else may jump on my deal! I want forum input but not to lose the deal if I decide to pull trigger.
If this is the same one in the photos of the frame above, I would be all over this. That thing is CLEAN and rust free!
