05 Patriot Blue build

@Chris would it make any sense to wait and do the MML last ?
Because with a SYE and CV driveshaft, and two rear upper adjustable control arms, that may be enough to eliminate vibes.... we'll find out

You can certainly do the MML last, I always just think it’s nice to install them with the body lift so that you don’t have to hassle with he fan shroud, which can be a pain in the butt to some degree.

I would like to knock off 2" of the skid plate height.
If i install a 2" lift, the total driveline height becomes 4 inches.

Does anyone know if raising the driveline 4 inches will require rear spring lift relocation?

I'm not a welder and if i have to cut off and relocate the rear spring perches should I not go ahead with a straight flat skid TT ??

Edit: You will be fine. The rear springs will only see 2” of lift. The 4” of lift will only be seen at the driveline.

I'm studying up on lifts and spring rates and plan to cycle my suspension this weekend.

I can get JKS adjustable coil over spring spacers on Amazon for $230 each.
Would there be any problem with keeping my stock front springs (now with a 1 inch sag) and using the above adjustables? They say it will adjust up to 3 inches.

I would like to keep the minimum 4" up/down travel.

You should be fine. They'll be slightly bowed, but not enough to have to worry about.

You could go with those, but you'll still want to get new shocks for the added ride height.

Ok good. Planning on Ranchos 5000x. Thanks @Chris I didn't know if there were any disadvantages to that setup.
I like the adjustable option.

$460 seems like a hell of a lot of money for coil spacers, especially when your current coils are sagged and need to be replaced anyway. Why not just buy new coil springs (sorry if that was answered earlier in the thread already)?

I agree... that makes a lot of sense @derekmac.
Nope was not answered earlier. I will probably settle on 2" Pro comp springs and build from there, that's the plan at this point
Could change after I cycle the suspension.

Ordered my ZJ tie rod upgrade today. That will give me something to do while I am finalizing details on my 2" lift.
The P.O. said it had death wobble at one time... a stock TJ? Ok.
This upgrade should give the front end more stability.
Yes, a stock tj does get death wobble.

Also check the track bar for tightness.

Was the front end give you trouble?

No, but I can tell a faint vibration in the steering at high speed. Maybe I'm being too OCD, I need another jeeper to drive it for a 2nd opinion.
Well, it’s a good upgrade anyway. What parts did you go with? Crown or Moog?

I went with Moog. Needed to degrease, rough up a bit, self etch prime and paint before install.

Yes indeed a good upgrade. After bending one tie rod last year at Wolf Caves I learned my lesson and gonna beef up the tie rods on both Tjs, first the 05 then the 97. :) dang this could get expensive lol
Are you saying I will need to prep.and paint the new Moog tie rod ? Moog doesn't paint their new parts ??

Today i made 4 wheel ramps out of a 2x6 board.
My Sport is stock so i made the wheel ramps to give me more clearance to work underneath my jeep.
It only raised the jeep 3 inches but that may be all i need when i replace my precats next weekend, and when i install my lift the following week. :)
