I wanted to compile a thread in the FAQ section of the site on the width of axles commonly swapped into the TJ / LJ.

You often hear people say they want to swap in "full width" axles, but "full width" is a relative thing, so that's really the wrong term to be using.

Anyhow, I thought it might be helpful to have a thread in the FAQ section of some of the most common axles that people swap in, and their corresponding widths.

If anyone would like to contribute to this, it would be much appreciated!

TJ axles are what? 61" front and 60" rear? WSM (Wheel Surface Mount) to WSM?

Dana 35/30 are both 60.5"

Oh yeah, I was referring to the D44s on a TJ Rubicon. Not sure if they are indeed the same width as the Dana 35/30, or if they are just slightly wider.

I used waggy axels on my last TJ, but cannot remember length. It was an awesome build, and I would love to do it to the LJ next. Gotta save some $

I'm using a 79 F250 HP 44 that is roughly 67" wide with factory ford outers. When I upgrade the outers using chevy stuff it will be closer to 68". My rear 9" out of a 79 F150 is real close to 66". I'll get some measurements when I get them together 100% in the next week or so.
