Pardon my ignorance but can you diagram what’s going on in your second picture? It looks like the jounce and bumpstop are touching. Is it supposed to be connected where it’s all in contact? I see you tapped a bumpstop that looks like a puck but then there’s something sitting on top and then the jounce above that? Sorry I’m just confused.
I’ll prob have to do it when springs go in then. I think my confusion may be in the terminology. I thought bumpstops hung from the top of the spring not the bottom. And that extensions just made those longer, as shown on mine. And this is the first time hearing the term “jounce bumper”. So I’m still a noob learning but I’ll google these terms and find out.In your prior post you mentioned that determining the correct bump stop is a lot of work, you are correct BUT there is no other way to do it. @jjvw has written extensively on this as it is the only way to keep parts from crashing into each other. Usually its you shocks that suffer.

Correct. "It" being the shock. The same is true for the tire.If it bottoms out before they touch then more bumpstop is needed?
I already have new ranchos installed for a few months so the kit is not an option. Coupled with the fact I am buying the springs from another member used. I will most likely buy the yellow spacers from quadratec.FWIW, OME springs will net about 2" of lift. If you buy the kit with shocks and isolators for 800+ dollars, the isolators are 10mm thick. That's where the extra half inch of lift comes from when people say OME is a 2.5" lift.

Would you say from my pictures above that I have too much bumpstop extension and not enough space for uptravel? Looks like that gap is only a couple inches. So not enough bumpstop can be bad obviously but Can too much bumpstop be bad as well? I’m guessing it limits flex and articulation some?Anytime you read of someone with a broken shock mount, you can be pretty certain that the bump stops were not long enough.

If the gap between the hard parts of the bump stop assembly is significantly less than the exposed shock shaft, then that suggests that the BS extension is too long. Things are a little less clear on the rear because the stock shock mounts are put the shock at an angle compared to the spring travel. That's all the more reason to remove the coils and fully cycle the axles. ALSO know that with each pair of springs there is one that is slightly taller. OME labels it as the "A" spring and the shorter the "B". The front A spring goes on the front left and the rear A goes on the right rear. Otherwise the rig will sit wonky.
