Man, an LJ for $5k. Wonder what’s wrong with it. Guess I could ask. 260K on the clock. If he’d take 4 I might spring for it if it’s an easy fix. These things can be a shot in the dark. Wonder if it has flood damage. Thanks for posting

Yeah, look at that front frame end. Literally looks rusted in half. I wonder what your looking at for an LJ frame DIY plus fixing the engine. I’d stay far away from that unless the price was $1K. I’d pay $2K if it was running. It’s got a Dana 44, 3.73 gears.

I remember seeing new body mounts under his rig.

Somebody better buy that JL before I do..lol.
The new tires are a good sign, imo. That means the owner was probably not planning on selling, when it went south.
So whatever happened could have been sudden... if a flood I would back out... if it's a broken crankshaft or other catastrophic engine disaster, buy it and trailer it home.
Install a new engine, it needs one anyway.
Now u have a cool LJ project for cheap.

I bought this rust free frame in AZ back in July for 1100.00. Was a nice road trip for me and the wife.

I think I got kinda lucky on this frame they don't come up that often. I went to the Phoenix area to look at two frames and one of the frames was purty bent the one I bought was within tolerance. One of the cool parts of the trip was I didn't need to pull a trailer.

I talked to the lady because I thought about getting it. She said( paraphrased at best from memory) she use to drive it everyday and in Oct '17 the transmission wouldn't shift out of 2nd. A code says it's a shift solenoid and I guess they have parts...but her husband hasn't had the time to work on it. It needs a new soft top and leaking in the back corners of the jeep. She says it runs and everything else works. They use to live in Tomball(not always down by the coast). I was going to look at it but it was farther than I wanted to drive not knowing if it was something I could afford to fix at this time. Yes 5k sounds pretty good for an LJ and I just thought about fixing it and cleaning it up and selling it. I have changed my mind for now. I thought I would put it on her just in case somebody else might be. MOE

$1500 in Houston{New Caney) now. I don't think this jeep has frame issues, but don't know that for sure.

I want too, but not a good time for me to be spending a lot of money on another project. I might drive down there next week if it's still there and I have some time. I was still looking for a LJ for myself I would have gone down there Thursday and bought it.

The frame horns on my jeep were a little rusty and the piece under the tub in the rear. I've been working on stopping some of that rust and cleaning it up a little. Just haven't put them on my build thread yet.

Dropping off @GRIZZLY1 here who is from NW Fort Worth. Not sure he has seen this thread. And @azroc909 who is from California but looking at a job opportunity in Fort Worth. If any of you are familiar with the outlying cities of Fort Worth and can give him some advice, he posted a thread here:
