Hey guys, I'm looking for some help/advice. I've got an 06 4.0L Auto TJ that has been having some issues for a little while now. The first issue I noticed was the hard shift from 1st to 2nd. After researching it seems to be the PCM that is is the issue because I could reset the battery and it would go away for a bit and only happens when it's hot out. Then recently it started having performance issues. First while driving on the highway it lost acceleration and when I try to accelerate it just revs basically. I got off the highway and was able to drive fine at speeds under 55mph. So I stopped to get the check engine light check. It suggested to get the PCM reprogrammed and the code was P0344 for the camshaft position sensor. So I purchased a mopar camshaft position sensor and all was good for another week. Then it started doing the same thing with the same code. I got then got the PCM reprogrammed based on the TSB 18-015-09. The check engine light was still on when I picked it up but after driving about 100 miles it went off for a day. Then while accelerating at around 25-35mphs it did the same thing it did on the highway. I went to get the lights checked out again and this time it has P0344, P0218, P0714. I went to autozone first then advance and advance has a nicer scanner so the other codes may have been there before. Either way, it is still throwing those codes and from time to time I have the acceleration issue. I'm wondering if the PCM is screwed and is what is causing all these codes or if I have multiple things going on? Should I take it to the dealer and have them diagnosis the issues or just purchase a PCM and go from there? Any thoughts or advice is greatly appreciated!
