It is a version of that set up. Someone drilled out the end tapers and used bolts for rod ends.

Gonna need a pic of that. The bend is always on the right hand side for left hand drive rigs.
99% chance the holes have been drilled and there is no taper left. He will likely need to swap out knuckles to install the Currie.
If he wants to go back to something with tapered holes, then he can swap on new knuckles or get some inserts in the current versions. Done correctly, the knuckles have to come off either way.
If it is the ORO, which it looks like, thrash it and go with the Currie Correct Link. You probably have some big bump steer with that set up.
Bumpsteer is present but minimal. The bigger issue is tire scrub in parking lots and darty steering at speed from the knackered Ackermann angle.
Like Blaine pointed out it's a modified version. The tie rod has heims and now that I went back and looked again, it clearly looks like they are bolted to the knuckle which most likely has the taper drilled out for the bolt. $200 for new knuckles or mess with tapered inserts. Guessing they'd have to be welded in.
We have lots of good used knuckles that would run 100 shipped for a pair. I can also repair those for 50 each with welded inserts but that makes less sense than a good used set.
That,s right I had forgot about the scub. I had the ORO steering. When you Installed the 17" brake kit, you explained the issues to me in detail. You also wouldn't do the brakes with the ORO on my jeep. So, the Currie was put on. Jeep drives very well and stops even better! Thanks again.
I believe more accurately I would have said something along the lines of I won't do it, you can do whatever you like once you have the kit. Or at least that is what I usually say.
It's been a few years. That's sounds about right. I didn't sell the oro. I was to embarrassed about it. I threw it out.
