It gets better. The Jeep he left in the parking lot to go walkabout in search of the motorhome has a hitch mounted cargo basket on the back with a bicycle in it.

That reminds me of the guy who left his family locked in the car, they almost drowned in a downpour because it was a convertible and he left the top down.
There is not a single embellishment. A chat with neighbor reveals that after he got the Jeep going, he went all the way from the Pigeon Pass exit on the 60 to the Morongo Casino on the 10 in search of the motorhome. He really doesn't know where he left it.
There was some vagueness as to the why he decided to leave the motorhome and take off with the Jeep when this started. Clarified, he left the MH to go to his sister's house in Lake Elsinore about 30 miles away to take a shower.
The more astute among us may ask why one would leave a MH which should have a working shower in it to drive an hour to use another. Turns out, he was warned not to back up in this particular area because he would crinkle the exhaust. He ignored the warning and crinkled the exhaust. Instead of fixing it, he just sawzalled it off right past the crinkle. The hot exhaust melted the plumbing so the shower and toilet don't work or in fact, anything that uses water. It is basically a motorized tent at this point.
I know it's not funny. And this guy was "incoherent". But damn that comment made me laugh. The dude had a bicycle...ah god. I'm loving this thread. I thought it was going to be about surviving in the wild after your Jeep breaks down or something.
We haven't had alzheimer's in the family. But my grandfather was a die hard driver. Even to the point that when he was going thru cancer treatments he still insisted on driving. Finally one day he fell asleep. Drove off the road into a tree. And broke his back so bad he never came back. Died a couple weeks later.
I hope someone pretty is chaperoning me around in a nice car when I get to that point. I have no problem giving up the keys. Especially with uber and lyft around. But if you live rural there are few options. That was my grandfathers situation. Although many offered to drive him that day.
OMG! This just keeps getting better and better. If not for the poor guys incoherency. Did you ever mention how old he is? Sounds like life is creeping up on him. Someone needs to call the county or counties and find out where the MH went. And then take him to the hospital and have him checked out. Sounds like he's on the far side of the big hill called life.
The incoherency was due to some medication he takes to help him sleep. He was essentially sleepwalking and the cops had to put him back to bed.
there are some serious underlying issues with this man...he needs assisted living...even though he is in his 50's!
Thus my question, how long could you survive with these behaviors. But, there's more. Whilst back in Ohio, he took the recommendation of a relative and paid someone to get his MH brakes in tip top shape. Apparently in Ohio that means you have to pull over every 50 miles or so because the air brakes will self apply when they get low on air.

People like this survive because of the kindness of others. I'm thinking they use a different brand of air brake fluid in Ohio.
Ohio only requires that when the someone that works on the brakes doesn't understand air brakes, air pressure, or even breathing.
Yes we do but the air brake fluid that's used near our bigger cities is no where near as good as the air brake fluid available out in farm country.
And now I'll spread some kindness:
Anyone going out there to get some, the cornfield and soybean fields have the best air brake fluid, followed by other fields that grow plants. Even livestock air brake fluid is is much healthier for everything than the stuff in the city but any system using it will need at least a week or so to get used to it.
I know ya'll are being cute. We should get an engineer in here to explain that the study of how air moves through passages and otherwise is called fluid dynamics.
Shouldn't a classA motorhome have a GPS locator on it? What is that phrase?...God loves fools and children? Something like that. If he is taking sleeping pills and then hops behind the wheel then i would hope this guy gets prosecuted for attempted murder. I am forced to take some meds that make me groggy too, but the thought of getting in a vehicle and hoping i don't kill someone has never happened. Is is criminal. Screw this guy. Find the bus or not, he should never be allowed to drive again. The next time it might be your kid run over by this idiot.
I never said or implied that he was taking medications and driving. After the MH was lost, they attempted to find it unsuccessfully. Later that evening he arrived at neighbor's home, called the police to file a lost and or stolen report at 6pm. Police did not show up to take said report until 2am in the morning after everyone was asleep. Since he was groggy and incoherent from the sleeping medications, the police put him back to bed with the comment that perhaps a better result would be achieved when he was not incoherent. I am unaware of any GPS on an older Class A. I do however know that he hacked up the area over the front seats so he could drywall screw attach a sheet of plywood so he could mount a big screen TV there. It would only be less ghetto if he had used duct tape to hold the TV to the plywood. Maybe the TV does have GPS in it somehow?
It was related that he was trying to call neighbor on his smart watch and it kept dropping out. Neighbor called him back several times so he could find the phone that was lost. He found it a few feet away.
