Neighbor is his friend due to working together for many years. Neighbor reports that if there is a decision to be made with only two options, Hoopty will choose the option that produces the worst outcome nearly 100% of the time.
Needs a MH, online advice says the only one to get is a diesel pusher. Buys diesel pusher with a lot of problems because newer ones are a lot more money. No working water pump. Electrical is FUBAR, has to be bypassed. Nearly every system has some major issue.
Buys cheap motorcycle to carry in MH. Cheap motorcycle has some mechanical issue, sells it at a loss.
Buys boat because he is camped beside a lake. Sells boat at a loss because he finally figured out that you can't tow boat and Jeep behind motorhome at same time.
Buys Jeep against sound advice. Ching Chong tires give him instant DW. Spend many dollars trying to fix it.
First time flat towing the rig to head out of town to Ohio, manages to rip tow bar mounts off of front bumper and ruin tow bar. It was explained over and over that you can NOT back up with a flat tow rig. Won't tell anyone what happened only that the tow bar is ruined and mounts are ripped off bumper.

I have a life. I am an avid observer of human nature and the ramifications of the decisions we make. This one is very special due to surviving an inordinate amount of poor decisions.
BTW- misfortune is when you lose your ATM card, run out of gas on the way to deliver the flowers to your sister's wedding and they wilt in the heat.
I've also kept it as anonymous as possible so for all you know, I'm just telling a tall tale.

It could be the story of someone's relative. I'm not sure who someone is.
A call has been received that the motor home has been located. It is supposedly parked beside the freeway. Hoopty has gone to see if it can be retrieved. Jury is still out on the exact circumstances regarding how it arrived at that location. Since the freeway is one that splits off from the one that he says he left it on, there is some speculation that he may have parked it there and then forgot which freeway he was on when he went back to look for it.
Those are non starters. If that happens, then he winds up on neighbor's couch full time and that is a bad thing. They have worked together the past 30 years building homes until neighbor retired and Hoopty had a hip replacement. Hoopty gave neighbor a job many times when it was needed over the years and can not find it within himself to cut ties regardless of the level of pain endured.
Best outcome is MH comes back unscathed and was just temporarily misplaced. Hoopty goes back to campground by the lake, all is well.
I’ve spent a number of years in the Army learning to survive all types of environments. I still question if I am prepared, although I know my mind is the weapon. A cockroach is still here so there is hope for all of us.
