What did you regear to? I have 3.07 and would like to go lower but I am interested to hear why you regret it.

Oh it goes deeper actually.....
I am embarrassed to say how much money I had in that Jeep and I sold it for about 1/5th of that value. Which then caused me to pay $10k for a 2001 TJ that had a Dana30/Dana44, a 4 inch lift and 35's....
BUT OH NO! That wasn't good enough. I had to try and recreate the jeep I ruined. So a Ford Dana 44 Front/ Ford 9" Rear combo went under it...Mind you both axles had to be rebuilt.
AND a 3 link/4 link with Johnny joints at both ends that I built. Stretch to yet again 100" wheelbase.
Only to be traded for a RZR 4 that I crashed into a tree and nearly killed myself with last year. ( I got pics but that are pretty nasty)
So lets recap:
Thousands (over $20) in original jeep, Thousands in a Stupid Dana 60 upgrade, $10k for a new TJ...Thousands in a Dana44/Ford 9" upgrade, Thousands in a 3-link/4-link. Brain damage and near death in a RZR
Regrets? I've known a few....
I can't say I have any regrets in my build. A few waste of time mods. Like interior bedliner
I'm glad there is real feedback on the bedrug, I was one click away from ordering that stuff last week. I went with an ACC kit instead. Mass backed full kit. Will be here in a few days and I'll let you know if I wasted money.

You know this thread has made me reminisce and realize just how much the years of time I spent on Pirate4x4.com and the "who's penis is larger mentality" over there adversely affected my decisions.
Now, I'm not blaming anyone for my poor decisions. I got no one else to blame but me... But it does make me appreciate this forum where that vibe is not prevalent.

Powdercoating my springs. #*$&. Did that when I got my 2" lift and still think red springs look cool underneath but what a dumb stupid idea. Only good thing about it is red rustoleum is an absolute perfect match.
Buying my jeep with a credit card. It was a new card and had promo 0% interest and 10% cash back for the first year. Thought I could pay it off before the 1 year promo was over, well life happened and extra payments stopped being a possibility for a while. Now im struggling to get it payed off with my new interest rate. And because of that I am not upgrading anything till I get it paid off... THEN to remax the card im sure.
First sign of a bad move was during installation. If you just look at them the wrong way the powder coat will flake. And i'm not much of a bling kind of guy so it makes it even worse I even thought of doing this.
Always wandered about powder coating flexible things. Good to know. We are all guilty of painting something red in the undercarriage. I even went through a Plasti dip phase.
Trust me, stay where you are unless you just plan on doing the most extreme off-roading (namely rock crawling) at which point you'll need 35s plus a lot more!
I have been contemplating this mod for 10 years why do you not like it.?

If you have a 4.0L, and I believe you said 31" tires. I'd probably recommend 3.73's. If you plan to ever run 33's, I'd regear to 4.10 so you don't have to do it again. Luckily you have a 32RH 3spd auto.
How come you don't refi the car through a bank, or IMHO, the best credit union out there, PenFed? Then use the cash to pay off that high interest rate CC and get into a 5% interest car loan.
My biggest regret is a love/hate, the Gr8tops hardtop. It is not well made, and for price I expected better quality. Although I friggin love the top, I would have paid more for someone to do it properly, namely Jeff Scherb, the wizard of fiberglass.
The first top I received had major leaks due to the fiberglass having holes, and water just poured in. I was told it was a new design that didn't come out well.
Then the replacement top was just poorly made. Pictures will do better than words.

Epoxy used to cover a huge gap. So much water entered the LJ.
Replacement top had all these spider cracks from careless mistakes. I will need to have it repaired at some point, if that's even possible.

I used to have a Tuffy dual radio overhead console, I almost knocked myself out wheeling once. It’s for sale if anyone is interested. I’ll throw in a helmet for a little more.
