I’ve been watching for a while. Junkyards here want $200+ for axles. A guy in the local 4x4 club wanted $100. But one finally came up on FB marketplace. It’s from a 96 XJ. $25. It will need brake parts and such, but I think it’s a good start. I’m still researching what parts I can bring over from my LP Dana 30 and what I’ll need to buy. I plan on trussing it.

He has the 8.25 too but I already have a Dana 44 ready to bolt in.

I want to go with 35” tires at some point. I’m not sure if 5.13 gears is a good idea for a Dana 30 (HP or LP) or if I should go 4.88.

More info if you want to run 35's

I'll be picking up the Dana 30 early next week. Is there any reason to also get Chrysler 8.25 for $25?

I won't use it, but I'm wondering if it's worth more than $25 to resell it.

Everything from your lpd30 will bolt right on the HP. Only thing you cannot swap are the gears inside.

Go with 5.13s and your 2.5l engine. You need to get the RPMs high in order to turn a 35"

Sure, you can get more $$ for it, but how long do you want to hold on to it waiting for someone to pay? And how many dumb replies and no-show is it worth? How many wasted hours waiting for "Bob" to show up and say he-s only got $20 on him?
For me personally, anything less than a $100 bill isn't worth the bullshit.

That's what I was thinking. And I doubt I could get more than $125 for it.
