Most recent regret? The Bestop Nextop NX!!!

Not the top itself so much, but the fact that I tried to install it on the day the first cold snap rolled through. Got about 1/2 way along the install and it got cloudy, windy, and the temp dropped into the 30s as the sun went down. I gave up. There's about 2" of gap on each corner. The top is now generally draped over the Jeep. Maybe this weekend.

I did the same thing with my top last winter. I almost destroyed it trying to get it on. And especially the half door tops. I had to literally soak them in hot water in the bathtub to get them to stretch onto the frames. My soft top I had to put it off a month or so. Until the weather heated up. But once there was a hot day and direct warm sunlight on the top. It went on.

I don't know about the Nextop. But if it requires the frame. Make sure you keep the foam on it. Or add some later when your done. Made a big difference in my top recently. As I had removed the foam to install the top. Stupid idea.

I think you'll like the soft top. BUt wait until it rains to get rid of your hard top. Just to make sure the soft top doesn't have any leaks anywhere. If it rains alot where your at. It may be an issue.

I hear what you are saying about the Trektop NX! I did one better, I bought one in twill! If you think the regular material is hard to put on, you haven't seen anything yet. I don't even attempt to take mine off unless I know it is going to be above 80 degrees all day! I like the look of it and that it doesn't have a frame, but what a PITA!

Mine is twill also, for anyone deciding if twill is thier thing, it's nearly identical to my buddies JT soft top. So if you want a sample, that's the closest thing i can compare it to.

Bought my first Jeep in 1974?.... there have been a dozen since then... I cannot think of a single mod I regret.

Yeah I got the thing on finally today. Unbelievably tight! We’ll see. I’m in Utah so we don’t get a whole lot of rain and the wife likes the doors and top off during the summer... The hard top is just a commitment as far as going topless, then when we do get a storm coming through everything either gets wet or I have set up a canopy. Figure this way I can just zipper on and off the 3 windows and voila.

My biggest regret is that I didn't do enough research when I bought my first lift and tires. I was scared of the price and all of the extras necessary for a currie lift, and settled for an OME and 31 inch tires, then instantly knew I wanted to go 4" currie and 33's. As @Indy stated earlier it is a rabbit hole, and would have been less of a rabbit hole for me if I didn't spend 3K first just to remove it all and replace it with new wheels and tires and a 4 inch currie.

I should have done more research, before I spent money on a lift I had for 3 months before replacing it with also new wheels and tires.

But weren't able to transfer those parts over to your lady's TJ? If so, at least you didn't have them kicking around gathering dust, or have to sell them at a loss. That would've sucked...

That is a true statement, but I would have been happier if I didn't buy both of the lifts lol.
Trust me the Wifee's Jeep is pretty stout now full of my resentments lol
