Yeah, it is one of the downfalls. I plan on one day welding some flat plate over it and sanding it all smooth. It is a quality bumper though!

I haven't done it yet, but I got some aircraft cable to make my own limb risers. Well, I'm still not sold on them completely, but they would help keep branches from smacking into the windshield on the tighter trails.

Pulled the 42rle out ready for the reman to arrive. This one lasted 120k without an aux transmission cooler. A big auxiliary cooler is a must with these transmissions so I've got a 9" x 11" cooler to prevent the reman from overheating.

Just Mounted my tires to blackwall, got tired of the white lettering. I think it looks MUCH better. I also tried the duplicolor tire paint. It went on pretty easy, just have to see how long it holds up. I'm not to worried since it's on the inside anyway.

So I got a 9000 lbs winch today, not a great winch by any means but I'm a rook and it will be a great start. It's a harbor freight winch but I only paid 100 bucks for it. Brand new, never out of box. I think it's a score!!

Attempted to remove the stock side steps today. I was able to break all the bolts free, but wasn't able to remove a couple of them. They just spin in place. I didn't have the time or energy to continue today, so I said screw it and put it all back together. I plan on putting tube steps on in the future, I guess they will stay until then.

sorry i hope im not too late on this, but if you have really good look at where the steps connect at the back..

get a big screw driver and pop some of the inner guard out in the wheel well and pull it away you will able to get in there and then you can get if off easy you just need to put a ring spanner on the back and the nut comes off like normal. it looks like its spinning in the chassis but its not it does have a bolt head on it.

I'm painting my tires black tonight with left over spray paint lol
