I looked up the rear shocks that are on my Tj and ranchos website says they are 3.5 inches. Does that mean my lift is also 3.5 inches? Secondly are the rear coil springs significantly shorter than the front coil springs.
Thank you! I actually was just able to find the thread explaining this! It says 12 inches in the front and 8 in the rear on that thread, do you know if you just mixed those two up or are the others incorrect?
Also the shock length will correlate with the lift correct? I.e a 3.5 inch lift will require 3.5 inch shocks?
Yes, the shock length, as advertised, should correlate to the amount of suspension lift.

Yes, some sag. Just go measure, then you’ll know the actual lift height. Springs provide the lift height. Then you buy a shock to match that lift height. Report backH

Change of topic(ish) if wanted to go 3.5 inches of suspension lift all the way around. Would I need to get 3.5 inch springs for front and rear or would having the 3.5 inches of spring in the rear create a front rake ?
Awesome! Going through the lift kit for beginners guide that @Chris posted. I would ultimately like to do 3.5 inches of suspension lift. Then maybe like .5inch to 1inch of body lift. I read it’s not good to go past 1inches of body lift because you’re not gaining ground clearance just tire clearance.
so with 3.5 inches of suspension lift I would have todo an SYE kit, rear shock location brackets, adjustable track bar, and possibly adjustable control arms? Advice on this would be appreciated. I still drive the Jeep to work which is only 3 miles, wanting to build it and get it more prepped for wheeling. Thankyou!
Awesome! I plan on running 35’s eventually as of know I have 33s. Based off of your lift kit guide I would need 5 inches of total lift to utilize 35s full potential. With 3.5 inches of suspension lift and the 1.25 inch savvy body lift you referred to, would not having that quarter of an inch affect my ability of using the 35s full potential? Also could I make up for that quarter of an inch by running some form of flat or high line fenders?Lift height should be determined after you first figure out what size tire you plan to run. The entire build should focus around what size tire you're running and what your plans are for the Jeep in terms of how you want to use it.
I wouldn't waste my time with a 1/2" body lift personally. I'd skip right to the Savvy 1.25" body lift and call it a day.
Awesome, based off yours and @Chris response I will probably just go straight to 1.25” body lift. Do you know if there was anything I left out on the list I made for the 3.5 inch lift requirements? And are adjustable control arms required?1.25" body lift is a nice size and very useful beyond tire clearance. Make sure the pucks are a rigid non-compressible material. No polyurethane, no durathane.
