Hott heat

Ok so is there anything to deflect the heat blowing out on my feet while driving... my foot cant be turned and is well broiled 15 minutes in the drive but I'm still cold... heat works great just hot on my feet while driving ... I can make something if needed just wondering if anybody has the same issue

It should only be blowing down on your feet if you have the vent selector set to floor instead of the vents.

Yeah ok so I had this argument with my ex ... heat rises if it blows out the defrost or the dash ac vents then feet will freeze

Well, you either set it to the floor and have burnt feet, somewhere in between, or use the vent setting and have cold feet. I supposed you could fab some sort of deflector for the floor vents.

You can also lower the temperature with the temp setting knob.

More snippy than snappy. Hard to get the actual intent when just words on the screen. I think (hope) most folks assume any texts that sound snippy is just due to lack of context and think nothing of it. A piece of cardboard or plastic can easily be attached with some electrical tape to deflect most of the heat either slightly upward or back toward your leg.

That is my only complaint about my TJ. It doesn't have the option of floor AND dash heat. It does have the defrost and floor but that runs the ac pump and I don't like to do that all the time. I end up running the dash for a little while, then to floor and do that back and forth till my feet warm up or I am comfortable enough to just leave it on the dash and point the vents away from me.

mine has a defrost/foot combo setting. But i do know what you mean, the feet always get hotter, faster, in the Jeep

I have to cover the floor vents completely in the summer as hot air comes in even with ac blowing out dash vents

Yep, I don't know why they don't give you both. My Chevy van is the same way, floor or dash but I have an 09 Scion xB that does both and can be adjusted more towards one or the other.

Yah, my PT has the option for both and so did my Liberty. Was kind of surprised when I went to turn the heater on for the first time in the TJ and it didn't have it. Oh well, I'm learning to deal with it. LOL

Most the heat you’re feeling on your feet is from the transmission tunnel and engine. Laying down reflective heat shield helps that a lot. Obviously I’m only taking about when you’re running A/C during the summer. I would make a deflector out of ABS to move the feet vent in a different direction for running heat.

Or some tin foil. Then you could "adjust" the way the heat is coming out.

Pull the A/C fuse to stop the compressor from coming on during the winter
