I have a 4inch long arm lift. I would like to upgrade it to a 6 inch lift. My jeep is a 2004 Wrangler. Can I just buy 2 inch pucks and upgrade the shocks and springs to 6inch lift shocks and springs? Or do I have to actually get longer arms to do this? Any help would be awesome!

What's the reason for needing longer arms?

When lifting, the preferable way to do it is new springs and shocks, not pucks.

However, you shouldn't need longer arms unless you know something I don't know?

That’s hilarious! Lol. My Jeep is my daily driver but I also like to trail ride a little bit and mud with it. I would like a bigger Jeep over all. I eventually want a 6 inch lift, and 35s. I’m hoping to re-gear it for 35s this coming summer.

I just didn’t know if I would need longer arms to change from a 4 inch long arm to a 6 inch lift. I wasn’t sure if I would need different arms and different springs and shocks, or if I could just swap the shocks and springs, or if I would need to add pucks or not.

Well, you're not going to need longer-long arms. Longer shocks and springs will do the trick. Just about everyone on this forum is going to advise against going that big, and for good reason, But If you're doing it for looks, it is your jeep. Enjoy

What would it screw up performance wise by just throwing bigger shocks and springs in?

You'd be better off ground clearance wise to go with a tummy tuck of some sort than adding an additional 2" of spring lift. I don't think you could get a TT to work well with 6" of spring lift without some custom driveshaft stuff going on and some really funky pinion angles and a definite lack of caster.

Adding a 1-1.25” body lift is the best way to do what you want to do for many reasons. 35’s need total lift if 5”+

Thank you, good to know!

Well I’m glad I asked because I thought if I didn’t lift it more I’d still be able to fit the 35’s

You could fit them but it wouldn't be ideal. General consensus around here is about 5" of lift for 35" tires and 4" for 33". A body lift is good for a lot of other reasons besides tire clearance alone though. I'll likely end up at 5" for a while with 33" tires. There are a lot of things I'd like to do that require the body lift even though I like the look of 4" suspension lift with the 33" tires. I can't see going down to a 3" spring though and losing the up travel due to shock length.

Look at @jjvw build thread for a good example of what can be accomplished with 5" of lift even with 33" tires.

Myself and LOT'S of others are running 4" lift kits with a 1" or 1-1/4" BL and 35's w/o any issues. I for sure would not want to run a 6" lift kit.

You definitely will not need more than 4 inch to run 35s. Adding that much lift usually detracts from the performance, especially the climbing.

A 6" suspension lift is too tall for 35" tires plus it unnecessarily raises your Jeep's center-of-gravity which would make it more likely to flop or roll on an off-camber section of trail. Optimal for 35's while keeping the COG low is a 4" SL plus a 1" to 1.25" body lift. That's what my rock crawler TJ with 35 runs and it does great on trails not everyone would be willing to attempt.

Is your rock crawler's 4 inch suspension lift custom or bolt on? Is it tummy tucked?
