Hydro assist steering?

Thanks for your help Fouldplugs. I was going to go the redneck ram route until last night when I found a complete used PSC system locally for less than half the new cost. Guy had it installed for 11 months but is swapping axles that are already set for full hydro.

So now that I’m running lower tire pressure with the beadlock wheels it is much more difficult to steer as the front has so much more traction at least out in Moab where traction is amazing. Even with the front and rear lockers turned off it was difficult to turn. I’m on 36x13.50-15 tires at 8psi and I’m currently running the ORO U-turn steering set up. I need options on hydro assist steering set ups. Is the PSC extreme that is $1600 plus a cooler cost The best or only true way to go or are there other less expensive but great functional ways to go. I’m new to the hydro assist stuff. Thanks for any help
I have the PSC kit and currently don’t have the assist cylinder mounted but i can turn my 35s with my pinky and a stop. I like it so far, can’t wait to see how the assist cylinder works.

I’ll look at it when I get out to the barn to check I can’t remember off the top of my head. Did you get the BMB kit to mount it? I just got it so I can change mine over to the Savvy ultimate steering like you have there as well.
Yes. I got the info in another thread, so it's not necessary anymore. Though it would be nice to confirm.

Don't want to end up like this guy:

The BMB kit makes it very easy. There are no instructions, so you'll have to dig around and ask questions. Most of it is intuitive, though.
I am also mounting it on the Savvy Ultimate Steering. Since it mounts to the drag link instead of the tie rod, it only matters what drag link you have (Currie).

Any pointers on how the brackets starch on the axle? I was gonna send them an email but if you figured it out I’d appreciate the insight.

Hopefully these help you.
Basically the hydro assist bolts in just like a steering damper. The brackets are just there to reinforce the mount.

The big short spacer is used between the big bracket and the damper mount on the big bolt. The skinny long one is used to bolt straight down. You will have to drill this one hole.

Start with the little bracket. It bolts to the damper bolt and to the trackbar bolt on the front face.

The second one, assemble the clamp on the axle tube, insert the bracket on top, add the steering damper bolt with the spacer, tighten the clamp nuts and the damper bolts all the way. Insert the skinny spacer underneath and use it as a guide to drill through the bottom of the trackbar mount.

Thanks! Thought I had it wrong when I couldn't turn the wheel at all. Turns out I forgot to remove the ratchet strap I used to center the steering...
