I think you'll be just fine. Moab isn't like Johnson Valley, and there are plenty of us who won't be doing the most difficult trails. Not to mention that there's usually more than one way around (or an easy way out).
I'd say you'll be 100% fine.

I've avoided it because of the big crowds. I'm just not a fan. I will admit, it might be fun to check out without kids, but even then, it was the same way with motorcycles. I always liked riding with one or two other riders as oppose to huge groups.

I haven't been myself but if you have enough time I'd check out Ouray Colorado also. Next years ROTM contest is going to be tough.
I did plan on doing about 3 weeks total. So I'll have some time before and after Moab. I looked at doing BBP and the long loop near Ouray last April- early May and all that was closed

Lots of snow up there last year, lots so far this year, I did Black Bear last September, am hoping to do it again this year along with a few more. Pending passes being open.

I might. Have to. Super my Dana 30 and locker it before this trip. 
When we went in 2016 on May 9th week there was a big RZR fest that week. I remember it well cause we had to wait for them to come down Top of the World trail so we could proceed up to the top. You should check the calendar.
