"Pacing myself" build

If you need a good person to redo the gears. Two of my jeeps and several friends have used Shawn at River City Diffrentials in Rancho outside of Sac he has been outstanding. Even helped me a bunch when I regeared my XJ myself.

I’m afraid to tell you what my rear driveshaft angle is.
I tend to believe there is something other than DS angle going on because I'd bet @JMT's with the Savvy tuck and NP231 is higher as well. Along with many others.

I agree, I used to have a harmonic that started about 75 but nothing down lower, it’s gone now but so many things are different and new.

My TCase is WAAAYYYYY up there. Pinion is 18*/driveshaft is 20*. I was up to 84mph the other day, vibe free.

Trackbar still crashing into the gas tank but a possible solution in the works.

I think the driveshaft angles can be ruled out at this point as well. Considering the vibration happened directly after a regear initially, I think the only issues could be between the output shaft of the transmission and the output shaft of the transfer case. Since the diff has been rebuilt multiple times and the driveshaft has been swapped as well, i think it really has to be in that area.

I think the transmission is unlikely, but considering the transfer case has been rebuilt as well, maybe I’m wrong.

Pulling driveshafts and seeing a difference is really messing with me though. I’m honestly stumped on this one.

I'd think if it was in the transmission the vib would also be present when the rear shaft is removed. Makes me lean towards T-case. @bobthetj03 I'll let you know what TW says tomorrow about spline contact in the rear shaft when I discuss it with them.

Really is a stumper. Seems like he has gone through everything regarding the driveshafts, but seeing a difference when removing one is sort of stating otherwise.

It's a stumper for sure. Thanks for the recommendation on a gear guy @Midnight LJR. Sadly, I should have researched more, but I'm now stuck with this shop and hope they can make it right. Taking it back to them Monday.

Spent this whole past week making small pinion angle adjustments after work, then drive home. I went from 2* higher pinion to ds to -3*below ds with a drive home and back to work. Absolutely no change in vibes across the board. The ds doesn't seem to care where it is situated. In disgust, I set it back to a tick lower than ds, where I'm leaving it.

Hey @Starrs , do you think a 03-04 Rubi can be found for under $12K? Mileage isn't a concern. Bone stock is a must.

Edit to add: 5 speed and AC. Don't care what top it has.
@Indy go steal his jeep once it's done and let's swap out the t-case. Worse case @bobthetj03 could report it stolen or go park it in downtown Sac overnight.

You'd almost be doing me a favor, lol! I can see the picture now with it on cinder blocks, gutted!
