Early on I said I would be there but I'm not on the list. After making the 1850 mile round trip to Houston to pick up the LJR I started having doubts. Now I realize that my son's high school baseball team will be competing in district/regional tournaments that week. It's his senior year and he lost his Junior year so not only do I feel the need to be here for baseball I really want to. If for some reason that schedule changes I will quickly sign up and be at the TJ Fest.

Oooooohh!
Chris: Yeah, then we go up the side of a hill that's about 46 degrees! It's awesome!
Wife: Yeah, whatever, have fun. Come on kids, let's leave dad to do his "man thing".

I thought about it for long enough that I realized all the kids will do is complain, my wife won't "get it", and it will just be miserable for everyone except me

I can send them to Oregon for a week to stay with grandma and that will leave me to have a hell of a good time by myself (y)

Sounds like a win win to me.

Oh it will be a vacation to me. I'm looking forward to it even more now ;)

Agreed! When I ran the Rubicon last year, my wife wanted to stay in the RV with the dog, so I set her up in a nice RV park in South Lake Tahoe for 2 nights while I ran the trail and froze my ass off when it snowed, lol!

I'm glad we weren't on the slabs like you and @Indy when it happened. Hopefully this year we get warmer weather.

Yeah, the weather was nuts, but we kept plugging away! At least I had the soft top up, but no windows. Most of you guys were full Monty, or half Monty, lol!

If it would have been hot and dry we wouldn’t have had those great campfire scotch fests.
