What did you do to your TJ today?

Well now you have a unicorn so hold onto it lol I bet it was worth the wait.
Wouldn't the unicorn be a Rubicon Sahara LJ?

While it isn’t much, I managed to get my TJ out last night!

I purchased back in June. Between work and having our fourth kid, free time has been a bit hard to come by.

I managed to get it to the shop for its safety and emissions inspection. They said it needed new front pads to pass safety. Okay, fine. It’s there, replace it. They couldn’t pass on emissions due to dead battery clearing out all of the monitors. The battery that was in there was junk, so that got replaced. The tech said drive about 50-75 miles and bring it back in. That should trigger a monitor if something is wrong. Otherwise, she passes!

I did 30 miles on my drive last night. I got my first seven waves in, too.

A little nerve-racking considering I have no Missouri plates (have insurance and the two inspections), but I’m sure if I’m pulled over they would understand.

Planning on another 30 tonight after work and taking the TJ to and from work on Friday. That will get me to my miles and get a passed emissions inspection. Get that paperwork in and she’s legal!

Put the hard top back on. We have had more rain in our area this year than the past 5 or 6. Normally August is pretty dry here.

Crazy. We've had less rain than I ever remember. Everything is SO dry.

I don't have a garage, but I've only had the top up for maybe a grand total of like 12 hours in the last month.

+1 My yard is basically a desert, I haven't mowed in weeks. The sucky part is I work an hour away from home, and closer to work we have been getting thunderstorms every so often, otherwise I would just run topless and leave the doors at home.

damn, that does suck ha!

I got caught in it once doorless/topless a couple weekends ago where it rained closer to the coast / really bad storms out in western MA. drove through a mild downpour for all of like 3 minutes then just had more sun haha.

Honestly though, the best first couple months of jeep ownership I could ask for, weatherwise!

Parts started arriving for operation refresh. My jeep has been on the same suspension for nearly a decade.

Plans in the next month include...
-Remove Rubicon Express long arm kit.
-New skid plate
-GenRight control arm frame brackets
-Home made control arms with JJ's (going 3 link front)
-Savvy front axle truss
-new coils, shocks
-replace all joints in steering, track bar and transmission mount.

-Sell worn out Rubicon Express long arm kit... I have rebuild parts to go with.

So question.. is this the time I make a build thread on here? While my LJ is a hover jeep for a month?
