Just marked the 1 year anniversary of the great sold/unsold/sold again/unsold again/finally sold 2004 TJ Rubicon adventure, and thought I'd poke my head back in here to see the TeeJular folks and what they're up to. Looks like the same ol' buckets of fun being had by all, from what I can see.

Next month marks a year since selling my 2013 Tacoma and picking up my 2019 TRD Off Road 4Runner. It's been a good year, minus all the COVID crap...lifted, A/T tires, sliders, LED interior lights, some other interior upgrades, with LED fogs & upgraded headlights in the works.

It's no TJ, but I've enjoyed the he## out of it for the last year. Whenever I might get a Jeep thought, I just log on here and get a fix through you guys. Still have no desire for another Jeep.

Do miss the forum interaction, though. This still looks like the best forum out there; it certainly was when I was involved every day. 4Runners.com is a close second - much like this site...

Just stopped in to say hi. Hide your wallets, stay away from those Jeep parts websites, hug your family and tell them how much they mean to you!

Well, Hello!

It's been a whole year? OMG! and This thread is worthless without pics

Of course since a TRD ain't a Jeep maybe off topic would be the place to post those
🖐

I figured there'd be a big outcry if I posted any photos of the enemy on here, no doubt. Maybe I'll brave the off topic...

Super serious. How do you like the TRD 4Runner? What made you ditch the TJ?
I'm keeping the TJ until it dies, but my wife and I like the 4Runners when we've checked them out casually.

@Starrs is in the same boat. He likes to pop his head in every once in a while, but I doubt he'll ever actually own a TJ again. He just likes to live vicariously through us.

Glad to hear you're liking the Toyota though!

@glwood good to see you. How time flies! Post up some photos of the 4runner, would love to see. Any serious modifications planned other than what you've listed? What interesting places you gone during it?

Couldn't be happier. The Off Road has a manual shifter for the transfer case (no electronic knob), locking rear diff, multi-terrain select, crawl control, KDSS, which, in essence, is a heavier diameter sway bar with hydraulic dampers, which firms up the on-road ride and cornering, while allowing more articulation off road. Tons of interior room, great highway manners, plenty of power.

One day, while working underneath the TJ, I just realized that after 30 years of wrenching on Jeeps, I was just over it for whatever reason. The Rubicon was in great shape, with a high resale value, and I just decided to get something I could travel in in comfort, and still hit the trails I like. The 4Runner checked all the boxes. I'd had many Toyota trucks at the same time as the Jeeps, and they pretty much were the epitome of reliability, at least the ones I owned.

Howdy! Good to hear from you, too! I don't have too many glamour shots, here's one that shows it in it's current state: For some reason, I cannot load any other photos.

Due to COVID, we've pretty much been confined to the state, and I haven't had a chance to make it up to Colorado this year...

Not going overboard this time around. I relocated the diff breather to behind the DS tail light, some seat covers, and will work on the headlights and fog lights. This truck will do all I want (and more) in its current configuration. Anything else would be just throwing money at it...maybe some skid plates...

Paid our home off today so I’m free to get anything I want really. Just not in the market for a tj.

That is so awesome. My first will be paid off in 2 years. After that it will give me 1975 a month rent. Can not wait to have that payment gone!!! Second (duplex) still has 20 years or so.
